AGAD namang nahuli ang chef na gumawa ng naturang cake. Luckily, he didn’t have any weapon or something in his mouth that could make him commit suicide.

Hindi rin ito umimik o nanlaban man lang noong hulihin ito at dalhin sa kulungan ng mga guard. Nanatili lang itong tahimik habang nakatingin sa kawalan ang walang buhay nitong mga mata.

Selene couldn’t pinpoint what it is. But it seems that there’s something strange about that man.

She bit her lower lip. Once again, the hunting competition has been ruined because of her.

Sa ngayon ay hinihintay lang nila ang pagbabalik ng prinsipe para sa pormal na interogasyon na gagawin dito.

“Your Grace would really be furious once he learned about what happened,” Finn commented as he escorted her back to her cottage.

Selene already knows that. She could even imagine the terrifying look on Apollo’s face once he finds out about what happened. That’s why she made sure that no one would let the Duke know about the incident until the competition was done for that day.

Napanganga siya. Hindi niya mawari kung paano nito nalaman ang nangyari.

Bakit ba bigla-bigla na lang itong lumilitaw sa tuwing may hindi magandang nangyayari sa kaniya?

“I will interrogate him myself. There’s no need to wait for the crown prince.” His grip loosened, then he walked out of the door.

Ilang sandali pang napatulala si Selene bago siya tuluyang nakahuma sa nangyari.

“Wait!”

Agad siyang sumunod kay Apollo kasama sina Finn at Amara. Dire-diretso namang tumungo ang duke sa tent ng mga royal guards.

“The culprit is in the dungeon, right? I will interrogate him myself,” aniya nito sa tatlong guards na naabutan doon.

“Apologies, Your Grace. But we cannot conduct a formal interrogation until the crown prince returns,” one of them answered with his head bowed down.

Sinamaan naman ito ng tingin ni Apollo. “Have you forgotten that you’re talking to the head of military power?”

Mas lalo namang napayuko ang naturang guard. “Apologies, Your Grace.”

Selene was dumbfounded. She forgot that Apollo is also the head of the military power in the empire. Without his support, the kingdom will surely fall into the hands of the neighboring nation.

As for the royal guards, they are under the command of the emperor, while the imperial knights are led by Cadmus.

Agad namang nilapitan ni Selene ang duke nang mapansin ang hindi maipinta nitong mukha.
