Daisy woke with a sharp, jarring sensation, her arms bound tightly behind her, suspended by ropes that stretched toward the ceiling. Pain radiates from her shoulders, and the ropes cut into her skin with each breath. The room was engulfed in darkness, her only company the frantic beating of her heart. Panic rose inside her as she struggled, her wrists twisting uselessly in their binings.

"Help!" Daisy's voice cracked in desperation. "Help me! Someone help!"

A voice, calm and composed, broke through the silence. "You're okay. Just listen."

Daisy finished, trying to locate the source of the voice. "Please," she whimpered. "My arms... it hurts. I don't know where I am..."

"Shhh." The voice grew closer, steady and soothing. "Breathe. In and out. I'm Alanna. I had a calmer introduction in mind, but.. Well, you got a bit overwhelmed and shot yourself in the head."

Daisy froze, the words settling like a heavy weight in her chest. A gunshot wound? Her head throbbed as if in response, a dull, relentless pain. Alanna's finger suddenly pressed into the tender, half-healed wound at the side of her skull, sending a wave of agony through Daisy's body. She winced, unable to hold back the small cry that escaped her lips.

"Fuck...why?" Daisy gasped, her voice strained with pain.

Alanna's response was swift. She gently pinched Daisy's lips shut, her touch delicate but firm. "Lets not curse, darling. You're alright. The wound's already knitting itself together."

Daisy blinked, her mind racing to keep up.

"Alright, okay... okay."

"There you go," Alanna crooned.

"Soothe yourself."

Alanna's hand slid through Daisy's hair, fingers massaging her scalp with surpassing tenderness. For a fleeting moment, the touch was comforting- until Alanna suddenly yanked her hair back, forcing Daisys gazed to meet hers. Daisy flinched, the pain from her scalp sharp and biting.

"Are you okay, Daisy?" Alanna's voice remained soft, but the power in her words was unmistakable.

"Shit, yes," Daisy muttered, her pulse quickening.

Alanna's smile widened, her amusement barely hidden.

"Are you sure? You seem more lost than before. Did you know your name was Daisy before now?"

"Daisy's head swirled with confusion. "No... I don't know what's going on. Please, just let me go."

Alanna 's eyes brightened, as if Daisys pleas were the most fascinating thing she'd heard all day. " Well, isn't that interesting. Ready to get down?"

"Yes!" Daisy's voice broke with desperation. "Please, I can't feel my arms!"

Alanna chuckled, her eyes dancing with amusement. "Your arms? I would have thought you'd be more concerned about the hole in your head, but I suppose you're focused on what you can feel. Mind over matter, Daisy. They're fine- your arms, your head. You're extraordinary, you know? That's why you're here. We're going to unearth every remarkable thing about you."

Daisy swallowed, her voice trembling " What do you mean?"

Alanna leaned in closer, her tone shifting to one of gleeful excitemint. "Daisy, we're on adventure. I run a bioengineering company, among other things, but this... this is my favorite part.We were tracking a foreign ship, stuck in the asteroid belt. We gave it a little nudge, tried to guide it back, but it didn't quite go as planned." Alanna grin grew wider, her eyes gleaming "But we found you. Isn't that exhilarating?"
