As evening fell, a camp was set up in the heart of the jungle. Laughter and chatter emanated from within. Suddenly, two elderly men arrived, their weathered faces reflecting their age.
"What's all this?" they asked, eyeing the tents suspiciously. "Is the government trying to seize our land again?"
The two men were farmers from a nearby village, living with their families and cultivating the land to make ends meet.
Just then, two girls emerged from the tent, dressed in simple attire with white coats draped over their shoulders. One was Jia, and the other, her colleague Vishakha.
Jia approached the villagers, inquiring, "What's wrong, sir? Who are you, and what brings you here?"
One of the men spoke up, "We won't give our land to anyone! This land belongs to us!"
Jia and Vishakha exchanged glances. Jia stepped forward, "We're not here to take your land. We're starting a camp here tomorrow."
The two men looked at each other, then asked, "What kind of camp?"
Jia explained, "We're doctors, and we're launching a 48 hour health campaign, sponsored by the government, to provide free check-ups for the underprivileged and their families."
"They may not have the means to seek treatment at a big hospital," Jia continued. "This is a great opportunity for them to receive medical care, absolutely free."
The two villagers thought for a moment, then asked, "Can we come tomorrow with our families?"
Jia smiled, "Of course, why not?"
After explaining a few more details, the villagers left. Jia and her team then prepared for the next day's event.
As night fell, they retreated to their respective tents to rest.
The next day, afternoon arrived.
Jia and her colleagues were conducting health check-ups since morning. It was lunchtime, and they were eating when a frightened child approached them.
The child, visibly shaken, stuttered, "Didi (sister), there... there... something's there... blood!!"
Jia immediately attended to the child, "Hey, calm down, what happened? First, drink some water, then tell me."
Just then, a villager arrived, saying, "Doctor sahiba (ma'am), there's a severely injured man lying over there!"
Jia's expression turned concerned as she quickly got up, leaving her lunch unfinished.
"Let's go," she said to her colleagues, rushing towards the scene.
The child's words and the villager's urgent tone hinted at a grave situation.
They followed the villager to the scene and found a severely injured man, just as described. With their assistance, Jia carefully moved him to a nearby tent house.
After quickly checking his vitals, Jia immediately began treatment, wasting no time.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the jungle, in Rudraksh's cottage...
At that moment, Rudraksh seemed no less than a demon. The men before him groaned in agony, battered by his wrath. Rudraksh held a hunter's whip with iron spikes protruding from its edges, the same weapon he had used to punish the men for their negligence.
"You fools let Zafar escape!" Rudraksh seethed, his anger boiling over. "You're useless! If he falls into the wrong hands, you'll suffer the consequences. I'll make sure you experience hell on earth."
With that, Rudraksh stormed off, leaving the battered men to writhe in pain.
Rudraksh stood, cigar clenched between his lips, as Daniel approached and whispered something in his ear. Rudraksh's expression transformed into fury, and he swiftly departed, accompanied by Daniel and several guards.
Meanwhile, at the health camp, the injured man lay unconscious, his condition critical due to severe torture. Jia and her colleagues strove to save him, but the camp's limited facilities hindered their efforts.
"We need to get him to a hospital," Jia decided, and the team quickly prepared to transport the critically injured man.
