Time Lapse

Everyone stares, as I walk along with my phone. Walking near the bridge without noticing. As I go near the bridge, all my memories of him are going back in an instant.

It was Saturday in mid-December when my friends ask me if I'm going with my family in a vacation. We're in an Ice Cream Parlor waiting for him as usual. We do crazy things like singing, chatting, taking up selfies and many more.

"Oh Lea! Your suitor is here. Yieee!" That's Mia squeaking like a mouse. "OMG! Watcha gonna do?" as Esther act like she's is panic. All I can do is smile and tell them to behave.

My suitor is the most popular in our school. He is Sky Louis Gregory. I don't know how our feelings faal into one place or maybe because we've known each other since we're kids. We play outside like in parks near the village, in our backyard, theme parks, malls and many more. Before summer vacation, I went to their house but his mother tell me that he will be away for years. My heart breaks and I run to our house. It hurts, he left me for no reason.

After that, I continue my studies and stick on it. After I graduate in grades school, I was surprised that he visit. I don't know that I hugged him tightly on that day. I missed him totally and that's the time I start to fall in love with him.

"Hi Lea!" Can we go out on the next Saturday?" He asked me.
"Yeah sure." I replied. In an instant, he jump and say, "Great! Oh yes! Thank you dear!" And he run away. Awww he's so jolly that's why my heart melts every time I see him.

So, the next Saturday, we go out on a date as usual but this time I was surprised. He sings on a stage, in front of people and he ask me if I can be his girlfriend. I was stunned and cried...tears of joy until I didn't realize that he is hugging me and I say 'yes'.  We are official and our parents talk about the wedding but we tell that we still go to work because it is not yet the right time.

As  days goes by, he look so weak and I asked 'What is wrong?', but he don't want to response.

Sky visits me once in a blue moon. I'm worried about him until the day I go to their house. Before I ask how Sky is, his mom said, "Lea, you need to break up with him."

I froze. 

Tears began to crawl down my face.

"Why? We love each other, we're for almost 4 years! Why I need to break up with him?! Tell me?!"

Tears dried up my face as I wait for his mom's answer but, "Because you need to. Sorry, ija." she tapped my shoulder.

I don't know why they need to do it to us. My heart was shattered, like pieces of a broken mirror.

Months have passed, I receive a message from her mom that he died. 

He died because of leukemia. I don't know what to do but my feet controls me until I got to the bridge.

"So this is the end?" I asked myself holding the bars of the bridge. I let my tears  flow as I jumped off the bridge and close my eyes.

We don't know what and when it ends. Just like in a track-and-field, there is a time-lapse. We still don't know if we can continue loving the person until the end of the time.
