The school days after that fateful glance from afar slipped by as Haneul tried to keep her focus on her studies, though her mind kept drifting to Taehyung. She'd stolen that brief moment in the hallway, and it lingered, filling her thoughts in ways she couldn't shake. But she buried it deep, reminding herself that he was out of reach, part of a world she could never touch.

It was during lunch that she met someone who would change the rhythm of her quiet days.

Sitting alone in the corner of the cafeteria, Haneul was lost in a book when someone slid into the seat across from her. Startled, she looked up to see a girl with short, choppy hair dyed in streaks of pink and silver, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Hi! You looked like you needed someone to interrupt your intense reading session," the girl said with a grin, offering her hand. "I'm Nari."

Haneul blinked, taken aback by the girl's boldness. "Oh, uh... I'm Haneul," she stammered, shaking her hand, still a little dazed.

Nari laughed. "You're adorable, Haneul. I noticed you sitting here alone a few times. Thought I'd give you some company."

Haneul smiled shyly. She'd always been quiet, never the type to reach out to others, so having someone approach her so openly felt strange, but oddly nice.

They fell into an easy conversation, Nari doing most of the talking while Haneul listened with interest. Nari had a way of making the mundane sound thrilling, from her adventures sneaking into concerts to her knack for pranking teachers in ways that somehow kept her out of trouble.

"So, tell me," Nari said after a while, leaning in conspiratorially, "what's the story with you and Taehyung?"

Haneul's eyes widened. "W-What? What do you mean?" she stammered, feeling her cheeks heat up.

"Oh, come on," Nari teased, her grin widening. "I've seen you looking at him, Haneul. Trust me, you're not the first girl with a little crush on him. That guy's practically the school's heartbreaker."

Haneul's heart sank. She didn't want to be like everyone else, just another face in the crowd admiring him from afar. "It's... it's nothing," she said quickly. "He doesn't even know I exist."

Nari tilted her head, studying her. "You never know. Sometimes the people we think are out of reach aren't as far away as we believe."

Haneul managed a small, hopeful smile. She knew her chances with Taehyung were slim, but something about Nari's words made her heart feel a little lighter. For the first time, she didn't feel completely alone with her secret.

From that day on, Nari became a regular presence in Haneul's life. They shared stories, secrets, and laughs, and Haneul began to feel a little more comfortable in her own skin. Nari was the kind of friend she hadn't realized she needed-bold, daring, and utterly unafraid to be herself. She was a burst of color in Haneul's quiet world, and for the first time, Haneul found herself opening up to someone.

Maybe, just maybe, with Nari by her side, she would find the courage to confront her feelings, to stand a little taller, and, perhaps one day, to speak to Taehyung.
