"You shouldn't have come here," it said, a cold, menacing tone lacing its words. "The debt must be paid in full."

Gabriel stepped in front of Eve, his stance protective, his knife drawn. "Who are you?" His voice was low but steady, though the tightness in his jaw betrayed his fear.

The figure raised its head, and for a brief moment, Eve thought she saw a flash of recognition in its eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, and the world seemed to tilt beneath her. She had seen those eyes before.

It was the same gray as Gabriel's. The same sharpness, the same coldness.

"Your brother," Eve whispered, the realization dawning on her with a sickening clarity.

Gabriel's face drained of color. "No... it can't be..."

The figure stepped forward, revealing the outline of a bloodstained hand, the ragged edges of a shirt torn to shreds. The storm raged harder, as though the heavens themselves were in uproar at the truth that had been uncovered.

"This is not just about you," the figure rasped. "It never was. This is about all of you."

Eve's stomach twisted as the figure stepped into the clearing, revealing more of its shape. The person was taller than Gabriel, broader too, but it was the face—the twisted, contorted face—that made Eve's blood run cold.

It wasn't just any lost relative. It was his brother.
