We soon pulled into the elegant driveway of the large home, Malfoy Manor. Draco stretched before getting out. I got out also, getting Binx and carrying him in with me. It was early in the morning, 6 or 7AM. We walked up to the large, sleek double doors.
"Shh..." Draco whispered as we quietly slipped inside. We slipped our way through the kitchen, with magic on the dishes, making them clean themselves. I gasped softly.
We walked through the hall, a magical clock on the wall. It now showed that Draco was home. We walked to the living room, a magical duster dusting off the shelves.
"It's definitely a lot...but it is home." Draco said softly.
"It's brilliant." I said.
"Where have you been?" A woman's voice spoke up, annoyed. Our heads jerked over. Narcissa Malfoy. She was a very beautiful woman for her age. She had brown and white blonde hair, and brown eyes. She had elegant black pajamas on also.
Draco swallowed, obviously nervous. His mother was practically shooting daggers at him. She then turned to me.
"Mia, how wonderful to see you, darling." She smiled, coming over. She turned back to Draco, her hands on her hips.
"Your bed was empty, you left no note, and the car was gone." She huffed. "You could have died, or been seen!" Narcissa said with a short panic in her voice, turning back to me. "Of course, I don't blame you, Mia, dear." She said softly.
Draco looked up at her. "Mum, she was all alone. The muggles her age hardly like her at all!" He pouted.
I slowly nodded.
"Well, you best hope that I don't keep you all alone, locked in your room, Draco Malfoy." Narcissa huffed. She looked back at me. "Come, Mia. Time for some breakfast.
Soon, me and Draco were sitting at the dining table, eating happily. Narcissa was making some coffee.
Someone came down the stairs. A boy who looked a bit like Draco, only younger. He was in some pajamas.
"Mum, have you seen my jacket?" He asked.
"Yes, dear, it was on the coffee table." Narcissa said, turning back to the coffee.
The boy turned and looked at me, his eyes going wide. I looked up at him.
"Hello." I smiled softly.
He backed up and then ran upstairs.
"Uh...what did I do?" I asked Draco, worried I did something wrong.
He sighed. "Cyrus. He's been talking about you all summer. Kinda annoying, honestly." Draco smirked softly, eating his food again.
I soon learned Cyrus was his younger brother. He'd be starting at Hogwarts this year.
A man with long blonde hair and icy blue eyes stepped into the kitchen.
"Good morning." He said. Lucius Malfoy. "What a night...It was very busy at the Ministry." He said, getting a cup of coffee and sipping it. He sat down at the table, looking at me.
"And who might you be? You're clearly not a child of mine." He said, scanning me up and down.
"Um...Sorry, sir. I'm Mia. Mia Lancaster." I spoke softly.
"Merlin, are you really?" Lucius said. "Well, Draco unfortunately has yapped all about you to us, of course. When did she get here?" He asked.
"This morning." Narcissa huffed. "Your son flew that enchanted car of yours to Florida and back last night." She said, shaking her head.
"Did you really?" Lucius said, tsking slightly. "You know I told you not to take the car without permission, Draco." Lucius scolded.
"Sorry, father..." He sighed.
An owl screeched, flying to the window.
"That must be Astraeus with the post." Narcissa said.
Astraeus, the elegant eagle owl, landed in the windowsill. Draco got up, fetching the mail from his beak. "Astraeus." He greeted. The owl screeched.
"Ah, our Hogwarts letters. They've sent Mia's as well." He said, handing me my letter.
"Hm, Dumbledore must know you're here. Nothing seems to slip by that nutter of a man..." Lucius shook his head, sipping his coffee.
I looked at the list of supplies on my letter.
"Goodness, this is expensive..." I sighed.
"Don't worry, we'll manage it for you, Mia, dear." Narcissa said.
"Are you sure?" I questioned.
"Yes, of course. We'll pay for your supplies." She patted my shoulder. "There's only one place we'll get this stuff; Diagon Alley." Narcissa spoke.
"Good. Draco and I need to take care of some business near there anyways." Lucius said.
Soon, me, Draco, Cyrus, Lucius, and Narcissa were all in front of the fireplace. Narcissa grabbed a small bucket of powder.
"Mum, Mia's never traveled by Floo Powder before." Draco spoke up.
"Floo Powder?" I questioned curiously.
"Alright, you go first then so Mia can see how it's done, Draco." Narcissa said.
Draco walked over, stepping into the fireplace. He took a small handful of the Floo Powder and held it up.
"Diagon Alley." He said clearly. He dropped the powder, and a green flame appeared, eating him up, making him disappear. I yelped slightly.
"See? It's quite easy, dear. Don't be nervous, come on." Narcissa encouraged me. I walked over slowly. I stepped into the fireplace.
"Alright, take your Floo Powder." Narcissa said as I took a handful. "Now don't forget to speak very, very clearly." She warned.
I swallowed. "Diagonally." I spoke, dropping the powder. The green flame enveloped me, making me disappear.
"...What did she say, dear?" Narcissa asked.
Lucius sighed. "Diagonally." He muttered. "Stupid halfblood..." Lucius spoke.
