1 week later

As they patrolled, Tiberius kept an eye out for anything unusual. His instincts were sharp, honed from years of experience on the force. He glanced at Tonny, who was reviewing their case files on the dashboard.

“What do you think about the recent string of break-ins?” Tiberius asked, breaking the silence. Tonny looked up, his brow furrowed in thought. “It feels like there’s a pattern. Maybe we should focus on the neighborhoods that have been hit the hardest,”

he replied, his analytical mind already piecing together the clues. They drove through the streets, their conversation flowing easily as they discussed leads and potential suspects. As they turned a corner, Tiberius noticed a flicker of movement in an alleyway.

He slowed the cruiser, instinctively reaching for the radio. "Did you see that?" he asked, his voice low but urgent. Tonny turned his head, squinting into the shadows. “Yeah, let’s check it out,” he replied, his tone shifting to one of focused determination.

They parked the car and stepped out, the sounds of the city fading into the background as they approached the alley. The light was dim, but Tiberius's instincts kicked in; something felt off. As they entered the narrow passage, they spotted a figure hunched over a pile of discarded boxes. “Hey! Police!” Tiberius called out, his voice echoing against the brick walls. The figure froze, then turned, eyes wide with surprise.

“Don’t move!” Tonny added, stepping forward slightly, his hand resting on his holster. The figure, a young man, raised his hands in surrender. “I wasn’t doing anything!” he protested, his voice shaky. Tiberius exchanged a glance with Tonny, both of them assessing the situation. The young man’s clothes were tattered, and there was a nervous energy about him that suggested he was up to no good.

“Why are you in this alley?” Tiberius asked, keeping his tone steady but firm. The young man stammered, looking for an excuse. “I was just looking for some stuff... I didn’t mean to cause any trouble.” Tonny took a step closer, his calm demeanor helping to diffuse the tension. “We need to know what’s going on. Are you involved in the break-ins?”

The young man hesitated, glancing around as if searching for an escape. “I... I heard some guys talking about it. They said they were going to hit a house nearby,” he finally admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. Tiberius felt a rush of adrenaline; this could be the lead they needed. “Where can we find these guys?” he pressed, his mind racing with the possibilities.

With the young man reluctantly providing details about a potential meeting spot, Tiberius and Tonny exchanged determined looks. They had a lead, and they were going to follow it. As they made their way back to the cruiser, Tiberius felt a renewed sense of purpose.
