✿ 1 nostalgia ✿

(Annabeth's pov)

As the plain lowered down in the airport of the city a wave of nostalgia washed through me because I saw a photo of me and my childhood friend group sitting under a tree laughing. There was eleven of us and Before you say "wow Annabeth you were so popular" I wasn't, we were just all outsiders that clicked together and never left each other.

We were bullied over the years but we always had each others back and we were all best friends, no favourites. We were all friends from young ages. All of them were me, piper, Jason, Leo, frank, Hazel, Thalia, Reyna, Grover, Nico and Percy, Percy Jackson. How I missed him. I know I said no favourites but he was definitely my favourite. Always. That's the promise we made when we were five.

FLASHBACK

Me and Percy were at preschool playing on the swing when a group of boys came up to us.

"Percy why are you hanging out with a girl" the front boy said

"Cause she's my best friend?" Percy said confused

"What? You cant have a girl as a best friend you're a boy"

"So what?"

"So you should ditch her and play with us"

"I'm not ditching her"

"Percy..." I say quietly. I'm not afraid I just don't want him getting hurt.

"No" Percy says "you are my best friend. Always."

"Always" I replied with a nod and a smile

Percy gets up and goes to the boys. The boys are grinning like I won.

"I'm only ever going to play with you if Annabeth can play too"

"No" the boy said

"Then go away"

The boys start to walk away and Percy turns back to me smiling.

END OF FLASHBACK

The plain dinged bringing me back to reality and I walked out of the plain and sat down at the food court. (I don't know how airports work srry)

Me and Thalia had planned to meet up with the rest of the group at a cafe down a few blocks in about an hour from now. I had kept in touch with Thalia and Percy and when I found out I was going to New York for collage I told thalia but said not to tell anyone else.

So she said that she was really exited and that there was a cafe near the airport that they usually hanged out at and that she would tell them it was just a normal hanging out time then I would walk in and surprise everyone. I was exited to say the least.

I put my earplugs in and put my playlist on after I ordered some fries from the food court.

Today was gonna be awesome
