"Self-confidence is the art of having faith in yourself when others don't."

As an introvert, I was constantly in a dilemma about having wonderful communication skills, fancy looks that upskill your aura, and a personality that attracts people like a magnet.

For that shiny thing to acquire, I read books about self-improvement, watched a ton of YouTube videos, joined the gym, followed other people's conversation styles to replicate results, and even tried to talk with strangers — the list goes on.

These experiences added depth to my journey, but the true eye-opener was the time I spent with myself. In that boredom, solitude, that's where I got clarity.

So, here are the most powerful lessons for building unshakeable self-confidence.

1) Go beyond your fears

We need to realize that not everything we fear is truly worthy of our fear.

Fear is an emotion that is triggered when things are not comfortable and look unclear.

When we push ourselves beyond that fear, we may or may not get results, but we find the courage to fight, and that's powerful.

Go publish that draft on a medium, that YouTube video, express your feelings, and do everything you ever wanted to do.

2) Trust your intuition

Yes, you heard it right.

Intuition is about believing in yourself enough to follow the path that feels right for you.

We simply need to trust it. I wasn't listening to my intuition and was instead following the well-meaning advice of others.

They weren't bad, but who knows you better than you?

As you make choices aligned with your true self, you cultivate feelings of pride and authenticity, reinforcing your belief system.

3) Don't take others' opinions to heart.

Whatever we do, people are gonna judge us. That doesn't mean we won't do things we are meant to do.

It's crucial to close your ears, clear your mind, and complete the tasks at hand.

When things are bad, people are gonna talk behind your back. They want you to grab their attention and do the same things as they do.

But, when things change, their opinion change as well.

So sit back, relax, take deep breaths, and break that person's barrier from your mind.

4) Write your thoughts

Yes, you heard it right. Writing down your thoughts brings a sense of relief to your soul and extreme clarity to your mind.

Some things are hard to say out loud, but that's when writing helps — listening quietly and helping you revive through the toughest parts.

So, write on a piece of paper, a notepad, your journal, or your diary, or, even better, write on a medium to connect with like-minded communities.

At the heart of it: "Just pour out your thoughts and let them flow."

When everything feels like a hard rock and doubting yourself takes over, remember Nike's motto: JUST DO IT!
