The light of their lantern starts to dim as the cold winds charges through the cave. Cirno, an ice fairy wearing an ice-patterned blue dress and winter white blouse, adorning a giant red bow on her chilling light blue hair with a red ribbon tied around the neck region of her blouse, takes a couple of rocks and starts to crash them into one another. To her company's disbelief, it actually starts to crackle. With a smirk on her face, Cirno relits the lantern. The light emitted from it shines through her big icicle-like wings.
"We should really get more of these, huh?" suggests Cirno as she reattaches the lantern to a stalactite on the ceiling.
"Not right now, I wanna sleep." Wriggle Nightbug, a youkai capable of manipulating bugs (as per her name suggests) fashioned with a silvery white collared button shirt and deep blue baggy shorts making her seem more masculine than feminine, her butterfly-like antennas protrude from her mossy green messy hair, a black jet-black cape hangs off her back, declines.
"Don't you think it's boring? We've been stuck down here for a few days now and I can't take it anymore! Let's do some pranking!" Cirno enthusiastically demands her friends.
"It was your own idea to decorate this place," Wriggle reminds her bored friend, "This place is finally starting to look good." she says as she stares around the area with admiration. The floors were draped with fluffy furry carpets, couches were placed all around the scene as a makeshift kitchen was built in the far corner of the cave.
A delicious scent filled the cave as Mystia, a sparrow youkai dressed a brownish red dress with fitting socks and a small bowl-shaped cap attached to her bright pink hair, tiny bird wing accessories are decorated on all parts of her outfit but it is overshadowed by her actual bird wings extending from her back, prepares meals for the gang.
Her iconic meal, grilled lamprey eel, was served using copper plates stolen from the Scarlet Devil Mansion during Cirno's misadventures. All members of the party sat in a circle cross-legged as Mystia distributes the plates. Rumia, a youkai with the capability of manipulating darkness who's costumed in a pitch black flowing dress and top with the underside being snow white, adorned with a red ribbon on her collar and a matching red ribbon stuck on her pretty yellow hair, eagerly eats up the eel, leaving no trace behind of its existence.
The last member, Daiyousei, a lime haired fairy dolled up in a bright blue dress with pure white stockings, a yellow ribbon sits comfortably on her collar as does the other yellow ribbon tied up in her ponytail, her regular fairy wings contrasts to those of Cirno's, was hesitant to touch her portion.
"What's wrong, Dai-chan? Not feeling eel today?" asks Cirno.
"If you're not gonna eat yours, can I have em?" Rumia quickly proposes.
"It's... nothing. I just suddenly have a bad feeling.." Daiyousei answers their concerns.
"Like what exactly?" Wriggle pipes in.
"Umm.... Maybe that?" Mystia points towards the wall behind Cirno.
"Huh-? WOAH! " Cirno jumps as a mysterious hole opens up to reveal a black void with peeping large eyes encompassing it, a gap. Everyone backs up as a figure designed in a large bustling white dress and a purple robe patterned black boxes slinked over her chest, long golden hair flows from her head as a yellow night cap covers it, exits the portal-like phenomenon. Yukari Yakumo, Mystia and Wriggle had fought against her during the Imperishable Night Incident. Countless wounds were spotted on her, dried blood rests upon her arm and forehead. She stumbled over to the nearest couch and laid on it.
"Hey! You can't just come into our-"
"Shut up!" Yukari dreadfully interrupts Cirno's comment.
She slowly sat up and took a minute to examine her surroundings before taking a look at the inhabitants, much to Daiyousei's dismay.
"The creator of Gensokyo, bloodied and bruised, decided to take refuge in a fairy's domain. Now what makes us worthy of your presence?" mocks Cirno.
"C-cirno-chan, I d-don't think you should-" concerns Daiyousei
Yukari took a deep sigh before replying, "Everyone else went insane."
"How insane? Like incident-levels of insane? Also how does this concerns us? Shouldn't you go solve it by yourself?" bombardes Cirno as Yukari struggles to stand up.
"Reimu is dead."

A stunned silence echoed in the dark cave as everyone was left shell-shocked.
"This situation has gone more than 'Incident-level', it dangers the very existence of Gensokyo itself." Yukari informs the group.
"The shrine maiden is... dead?!" repeats Mystia.
"Sadly. Reimu and I was investigating the incident this morning but it was more than we bargained for. Every youkai, goddess, vampire, you call it, was infected by deadly magic which made them go psycho. It would've been a simple incident to solve if they didn't suddenly become stronger. Some are destroying the land outside as we speak."
"But... How did Reimu get killed?" questions Cirno.
"Fought one of the onis, Suika, we proposed a regular danmaku battle but before we could even initiate, she quickly attacked. Of course, Reimu did not simply perish from the sneak attack and fought valiantly against the giant oni which.." Yukari sighed grievingly "lead to her eventual death. Even with my help, we couldn't beat her."
Daiyousei held Cirno's arm trying to keep her composure as the unsettling image of the battle forms in her imagination. Yukari coughed as she wrapped her open wounds with a towel Cirno stole from Kourindou, "Now it seems like you're.." She grimaces trying to say her sentence, "the only hope left for Gensokyo."
"Now hold on a damn minute, if neither you nor the shrine maiden could beat a single oni, what gives you the idea that we could possibly hold our own and save Gensokyo from probably even stronger threats?" Wriggle questions her un-welcomed guest.
"Pfft, I could easily beat them, no doubt." Cirno retorts, her comment being ignored by everyone in the room.
"Everyone in the world has a barrier which limits their potential. This is why even those with extraordinary powerful abilities could be considered weak. I am disgusted by the fact that I have to resort to this method but Gensokyo is more important than any old status quo." Yukari answers before holding Daiyousei's head for a few minutes.
"U-um Miss Yukari, w-what are you-!" she timidly tries to ask before a shining light emits from her head and she falls into Cirno's arm.
"Dai-chan!" Cirno creates a sword out of ice and points it at Yukari. "I don't know what you just did but it looks like you're attacking us!".
A tired and contemplating look forms on Yukari's face before telling the idiot infront of her, "Calm down Ice Fairy, I removed her limiter and it seems as she's facing some side-effects but she'll likely be fine in a few minutes."
"Oh.." Cirno withdraws her blade as she places the unconscious Daiyousei on a nearby couch. Yukari goes towards Wriggle and proceeds to place her hand on the bug-lover's forehead. The same blinding light escapes from the bottom of Yukari's hand before removing it.
A stunned Wriggle asks, "I didn't faint?".
"The Big Fairy over there had the most potential locked. It's most likely the reason she suffered the momentary blackout." Yukari informs before moving to Mystia next and continues the process. After the bird youkai had her limiter removed, Yukari moved to Cirno before doing the same.
Yukari let out a giant groan before succumbing to lay time on the couch opposite of where Daiyousei was laying.
"Hey, aren't you forgetting someone?" asks Rumia, arms stretched in opposite sides.
Yukari looked at her with a suspicious expression, saying, "You don't have a border of potential."
Without a proper explanation, she rests her very tired eyes.
"Rude much?" Rumia complains.

"So, uhh... What do we do now?" Mystia asks the group for ideas.
"Well, big strong bad guys are no much for me and with all of you backing me up, we'll destroy this incident and avenge Reimu!" declares Cirno.
"Hold on, Sleeping Beauty over here didn't tell us what the removal of this supposed 'potential limiter' meant." says Wriggle, slightly annoyed, "For all we know, we could be at our max or lowest potential. Going in guns blazing, against something that even the shrine maiden and Yukari couldn't even beat, is stupid even for you."
"But we can't just stay here." Mystia retorts.
The cave suddenly rumbled and stalactites fell, fortunately missing the gang. Loud crashing could be heard above them as Cirno readies her sword. A large crack forms above the recently made kitchen as the sounds of eerie screeching could be heard from it. The crack kept expanding before a spinning beam of deep terror purple escapes and obliterates the surrounding object. A menacing figure of pale facial texture crawls down from the hole. Its mouth was slit opened, their cyan hair covered the stitches on its head. The button-like eyes on its dollish head stared at them before standing on their arms and legs, the red dressing covering them reeked of wet machinery.
"Is that.. Hina?" Mystia looked at her fellow youkai in terror. Is this what Yukari was talking about being stronger? She supposed relocating their home to the Youkai Mountain was a bad idea after all.
Ignoring the bird's comment, the monsterized Hina sharply inhales, which seems more like sucking, and opens her gigantic mouth. A purple-ish darp blue ball came out before expanding into a massive beam that was heading towards the group. Before it could hit them, it suddenly stopped midway. Yukari held out her hand toward the beam, presumably creating a barrier between the beam and them. A person-sized gap appeared behind the squad, "Quickly, enter it!" she yelled out.
Cirno stood beside the old hag with her sword infront of her, "I don't think so! I'll show you the true strength of the strongest fairy!" excitedly declared.
"Stop playing, this is serious! Get out of here!" Yukari tried warning the over-confident ice fairy but she insisted on staying.
"Cirno! C'mon let's go!" her friend, Rumia tried pulling her away but Cirno struggled against it.
"No! I must fight!" Cirno insists.
"Don't be fucking stupid!" Wriggle helped Rumia in pulling Cirno away. With their combined effort, they managed to bring their icy friend to the gap.
"Hey, stop this at once! Let me go!!!" Cirno screamed but to her dismay, they entered the mysterious gateway.
Mystia quickly scooped up the still knocked out Daiyousei before doing the same. Rocks and stalagmite were falling all around as Yukari stood up to deal with the misfortune goddess. Before they could see the outcome, the gap closed.
