Cassidy

Today is my 25th birthday my coming of age day to be considered an adult. It is a day I had been waiting for a long time because I would finally get some answers from my uncle—the answers I had wanted for as long as I could remember I, Cassidy Mercer, am a witch with hidden magic that nobody knows about most people only know that I can manipulate elements and do some healing magic. This type of magic is pretty common and thus allowing me to hide in plain site.

After the meeting I made my way to the secret interdimensional pocket—a place where I had spent countless hours as a child. A place where I trained in solitude, honing my powers. This hidden pocket was a small town filled with a training facility, complete with a gym equipped with world-class equipment necessary for honing the magic that resides within the soul. There was also a beautiful replica of a mountain from the real world, a serene backdrop that always inspired me. The training facility was fortified with the most complicated and powerful wards known to the world, allowing one to master their power without fear.

My uncle Jason was already waiting for me when I arrived. As I took a seat beside him in a garden overlooking the mountains, I absorbed his presence. He was a tall man, standing at six and a half feet, with sandy brown hair and a slim build that exuded an aura of power. I could always sense the energy of those around me, even if they tried to conceal it. He wore his usual casual attire, but today, his demeanor felt heavier, as if he carried the weight of the answers I sought.

"Cassidy, happy birthday," he finally spoke, breaking the silence.

"Thank you, Uncle," I replied, my heart racing.

"What do you want for your birthday this year, dear?" he asked, his tone light yet serious.

"Uncle, once you told me that when I turned 25, you would finally give me some answers. I want them," I said, my voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions.

He paused, his gaze drifting to the mountains. "Participate in the Magic League and become a member of the elite squad, then I will answer some of your questions but know this the league is dangerous."

Without any hesitation, I replied, "I will participate, Uncle. I can't wait another few centuries to get answers. I want to know about my parents."

"We are immortals, my darling. A few centuries is nothing to us," he reminded me, his voice calm yet firm.

"Uncle, I know, but I can't wait any longer," I insists, my determination unwavering.

"So be it," he said with a hint of reluctance in his voice.

"Uncle, can you really not tell me anything before I pass this competition?" I pressed, desperation creeping into my tone.

" I won't tell you anything until you prove that you can protect yourself."

"But you know I can handle myself, I can control all six elements, conjure weapon out of thin air ,open portals in blink of a second, create special pockets and heal myself in case of emergency."

"You know how much I loves you and care for you."

"You are like my own daughter to me and I wouldn't tell you anything that put you at risk," he replies very firmly.

The competition loomed large in my mind .How dangerous it is going to get? I hear the shapechangers play dirty, but I know I have more power than they think I do but will it be enough? How bloody it is going to get? All these question swirls in my mind. But I know the real battle for me was the one within. What truths would my uncle reveal? Would he finally explain the whispers of my lineage, the secrets that had been kept from me?

As the dawn approached, I resolved to embrace the competition and the revelations that awaited me. The air outside was thick with magic, and I could feel the pulse of Eldoria calling me to step forward, to claim my place in the world. I had spent years honing my skills and the competition would most likely test them. Today, I would begin my quest—not just for answers about my parents but for the very essence of my identity. The journey ahead would be fraught with danger, but I was ready to face whatever lay in my path. After all, I was Cassidy Mercer, and I do not back down from challenge.
