"Ugh, this whole semester has been absolute chaos," Ann sighed, dropping her clothes to the floor as she headed for the shower. "I need an escape, somewhere serene and surrounded by nature."
Benny, lounging on Ann's bed, chimed in, "You know what would make that getaway even better?"
Ann poked her head out from behind the shower curtain, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. "What?"
"Sharing it with someone you love," Benny said with a sly grin.
Ann's face lit up. "Why not make it a friends' getaway? Invite everyone to bring their significant others!" Excitement bubbled in her voice.
After her refreshing shower, Ann emerged dressed in cozy PJs. She grabbed her phone and created a group chat, adding Benny first. They privately messaged their closest friends, gauging interest before adding them to the group.
Once they had the perfect mix of couples, the planning began. With two weeks until the next semester, timing couldn't be better.
The first hurdle: choosing a location. After much debate, they settled on a picturesque spot far from their current campus. Worth the travel, they agreed.
Next, logistics. Ann, being an skilled chef, took charge of meals. Everyone would contribute funds for groceries, transportation, and activities.
A short-let apartment made sense for their large group, ensuring a homey atmosphere during their week-long retreat.
But, as the days ticked by, doubts crept in. Some friends delayed payments, others backed out entirely. Morale began to sag.
Yet, on the fifth day, something shifted. Payments started rolling in, and the group's enthusiasm reignited. Before long, the departure day finally arrived.
The anticipation was palpable. Ann and Benny exchanged a look, their faces mirroring each other's excitement.
"Vacation mode, activate!" Benny declared, throwing her arms up in triumph.
Ann chuckled. "Time to unwind and make unforgettable memories with the people we love."
