The screen lit up with the title of 'Chapter 4: My New Reality'
"I take it that it's you finally realising and coming to terms with the fact that she's living in another world?" Annabeth guesses.
"Possibly," Furina hums in agreement, looking to the other Annabeth who looked to be older than her Annabeth.
"You okay, Furina?" Grover asked.
Yep! Just perfectly fine!
"The sarcasm is strong in this one," Percy says with a playfully 'wise' tone.
"Why thank you," Furina thanked primly.
"Let her have some time to process, she just had a traumatic experience. She'll speak once she wants to."
Oh, was she not speaking?
"Why is she not speaking when she so clearly seemed to react?" Hermes questions with a confused hum.
"It's a normal response when someone is faced with a traumatic experience, it's called 'selective mutism' and it's a response to situations where the child feels like the situation is out of control." LO.Annabeth explains, she'd read into the topic due to a fleeting interest.
Oh.
"-she could be in danger-"
"-I saw!"
Now they're talking about her and what a danger her life could possibly be. This needs to stop.
"They worry Princess," LO.Clarisse rolls her eyes. "They don't know that you have the ability to protect yourself."
"But still, I survived this long," Furina huffs.
"I have this sword." Furina finally spoke. She opened the case that held her sceptre. "It doesn't really look like a..., it's a very glorified sceptre cane."
"Splendor of Tranquil Waters, it may not look like a sword but it is a weapon." Furina held it and the sceptre on the tip glowed white and gold. "I just don't know if it would work on monsters like Mrs. Dodds."
"It would," LO.Poseidon sighs, he didn't know who'd given her the sceptre/sword.
"Yup, know that now," Furina smiles to him.
"It seems to have been made from adamantine." Mr. Brunner pointed out. "But I could be wrong. If it is adamantine, you have yourself a weapon to defend yourself from. Though I must say, that is heavily decorated with gold."
"The sceptre is one that holds much historical and cultural relevance to the people of Fontaine, it is part of our Nation's history." Neuvillette informs LO.Chiron.
"It may be heavily decorated in gold, however, it is a valid weapon that Lady Furina wielded." He continues.
"And it was gifted to me by someone that valued my continued existence, so I highly doubt she'd give me a weapon that couldn't be used as an actual weapon." Furina latches on.
"It's lightweight." Furina told him. Her sceptre was something that Focalors had gifted her to use as a weapon and for whatever she wished, and despite being a sword she had never once used it as an actual weapon against anyone. More like a stage prop really. The intricate designs that would normally make it heavy was not a problem.
"Is it the adamantine that makes it lightweight? I mean, I don't know if its the same in your world, but Adamantine is known to be impossibly lightweight for such a strong and rare metal," Annabeth says, LO.Annabeth nodding her head in agreement as they look imploringly at Neuvillette.
