Park Y/N was walking through the hallway of her new college, the excitement bubbling in her chest. She had already joined the college, and today, she was moving into the hostel. Her small family had come along to help her settle in. Mr. and Mrs. Park couldn’t bear to miss one of the greatest steps in their daughter’s life. They had tried to prepare themselves for the moment when Y/n would leave home, but it was still hard for them to accept. After all, they lived four hours away from the college. Her brother, Park Jimin, clung to his big sister like a koala. Even though they were only one year apart in age, she always treated him like a baby.
"Noona, do you really want to study here?" He asked, the same question he had asked for the Nth time that morning.
"I’ve already enrolled, Chim. I don’t think we have a choice now," she replied softly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
Jimin looked up at her, a pout on his face. "I’ll call you every day, so don’t worry. It’s part of life, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be distant. Our bond will only grow stronger," she said, offering him a reassuring smile.
A genuine smile spread across Jimin’s face, his heart lightened by her words. She always knew how to make him feel better.
"Y/n-ah, call us if you’re in trouble, and choose good friends. You know they’re hard to find," her Appa warned, his voice firm but filled with love.
"You mean a friend like Eomma?" Jimin teased, his voice high-pitched as he mimicked his mother’s tone. Mr. and Mrs. Park both blushed, exchanging shy smiles.
At the hostel, the atmosphere shifted as the administrator greeted them.
"So, Miss Y/n, you’ll be staying in room number 417. You’ll have a roommate, Miss Han, who will be moving in tomorrow. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to let me know," the administrator informed her with a polite nod.
"Wow, the room is spacious!" Mrs. Park exclaimed, her eyes wide as she took in the room’s size.
"Yes, Eomma, I didn’t expect this," Y/n squeaked, her voice filled with surprise and delight as she looked around the room.
Her mother smiled at her, but there was concern in her eyes. "Y/n-ah, I know you’re an independent woman, but please don’t stay out too late."
"Also, studies are important, but don’t forget to enjoy this time. It’s part of the experience," Mr. Park added with a gentle smile.
Y/n nodded, absorbing her parents’ words of advice. She knew they only wanted the best for her.
Jimin, ever the mischievous one, chimed in with a playful grin, "Also, Noona, find a boyfriend soon." His teasing caused the others to burst into laughter, lightening the mood.
"Okay, dear, take care," her parents said, and with one last hug, they began to walk towards the door.
Y/n stood by the window, watching their car disappear down the road. Her eyes glistened as a wave of emotions washed over her—a mix of excitement, sadness, and anticipation. This was it—the beginning of her college life. The start of everything she had dreamed of.
She took a deep breath, smiling softly to herself, and turned back to her new life waiting ahead.
