"I blinked open my eyes to Sonakshi's piercing scream, "Wake up, bitch!"
"Groggily, I asked, "What's wrong? And throws a pillow at her"
Sonakshi giggled. "I don't know, but you were smiling ear to ear and drooling like you'd seen a hot guy in your dream!"
My mind raced back to the vivid dream I'd just had. A tall, fit figure with a charming smile handed me my favorite extra-large vanilla cold coffee.
"Thank you," I said in the dream.
"I love you," he replied, messing up my hair.
"Stop! I can't look this messy!" I playfully protested.
"You know I love you when you're looking like a mess... my mess," he teased.
I lightly hit his chest, and he simply smiled.
"Got class, meet you later," I said, waving goodbye.
"Love you," he whispered, his voice sending shivers down my spine.
Now, awake and back in reality, I couldn't shake off the feeling. Who was this mysterious guy? Why did he appear in my dreams? And why did his words feel so real?"
I snapped out of my thoughts ,realizing I was running late for college. After a quick 45-minute get-ready session, I headed to the living area of our apartment, shared with Sonakshi and Naira. Naira had already set out breakfast, her culinary skills on full display.
As we sat down together, our weekly "therapy session" planning began. We dubbed our girls' day outings as therapy, a time to shed our worries and simply be ourselves, carefree and joyful.
Sonakshi, the shopaholic in our group loves to go shopping every month. She loves buying stuff that could be anything of that Matter. Sometimes even buying for Madhav. Naira and I exchanged amused glances, joking about our singleness.
"Don't worry, my babies," Sonakshi teased. "You'll find someone to worship you soon enough."
I playfully ribbed Naira, "Or maybe just me, since you're already smitten with Dev."
Naira's cheeks flushed as she swatted at me. Sonakshi and I continued to tease her.
As I sipped my coffee, my phone buzzed with a notification from my class representative. Another assignment deadline loomed. I groaned, dropping my phone.
"Fuck college life," I muttered under my breath. "No laughter, no life, no love."
At that moment, I longed for a life where I could find solace in someone's arms. A life where my partner would lift me up, hold me close, and whisper, "It's alright, baby, I've got you."
Sonakshi's voice broke my trance. "Shanaya, pass your plate!" I handed it over, lost in thought once more, fantasizing about the mysterious guy from my morning dream. I wish he was real!!
