"that's when i could finally breathe."

People always remember where they were and what they were doing when a tragedy struck. For example, when Wall Maria fell.

The Scouts, including you, were on the way back to HQ after an expedition had gone terribly, and the news didn't reach you quickly enough.

By the time the news did reach you, it was too late.

You didn't know what had become of your home, of your family, of your friends. You didn't know anything until you found Eren, Mikasa, and Armin with the rest of the evacuees.

Your mother was dead, your father missing.

Well, Carla wasn't actually your biological mother. From what you knew, your real mother died when you were about five years old, but you couldn't remember that far back.

But it's not like your father would lie to you.

From the moment you were born, you had always been the light of your father's life, his pride and joy. Being the father of a girl changes a man, usually for the better.

Between the time that your mother died and your father met Carla, it was just you and him. He was a doctor, and for the most part, he would bring you with him anywhere he went and teach you about his occupation.

Due to that, you were known by a lot of people, including high ranking government officials.

Carla had always been opposed to Eren joining the Scouts, even though you had joined the Scouts when you were fifteen years old.

You climbed the ranks very quickly, even becoming a Section Commander after only a year and a half.

Your first friend that you made in the Survey Corps was named Hange Zoe after they convinced you to help them with an experiment.

That single experiment turned into the two of you quickly growing closer, even being mistaken for a couple on multiple occasions.

After a few years of being in the Scouts, you were forced into a mission to find three people in the underground.

One of those three people went by the name of Levi.

He was 25 about to turn 26, and you had just turned 18.

God, was he hot.

He climbed the ranks almost as quickly as you did, and you couldn't help but admire him for that.

You and Hange, being known as the two most outgoing people in the Scouts, tried to become friends with him.

And while he didn't show it for the most part, you knew he cared about you. He just showed it in different ways than normal people would.

He was stoic, and you would wear your heart on your sleeve.

Well, only when you were around people that you felt comfortable with.

Which after a short while, Levi became one of those people.

You, Hange, and Levi were your own little clique. To most people, it seemed like you two were just annoying him, but deep down you knew you weren't.

But you were more than determined to figure out how he felt.
