In Russia, Mr. Drosselmayer was getting everything ready for the Christmas party. "Candles," he muttered. "We need more candles."

Clara, his granddaughter, was gazing dreamily into the snow globe.

Mr. Drosselmayer's voice cut through her thoughts. "Clara, please. No more daydreaming. We have to finish decorating before the guests arrive!"

Clara got up and nodded respectfully. "Yes, grandfather," she replied.

As Clara finished decorating with her grandfather, the Powerix girls stood in front of the door, having returned to their civilian clothes.

"Should we knock?" Alysha asked.

Electra shook her head. "Not yet," she replied. "Let the guests get settled first. Then we'll follow afterwards."

"But shouldn't we go in and disguise ourselves as guests?" Natalie asked impatiently. "They're expecting us!"

"Uh-uh. I did some research, and Russian people don't like guests arriving earlier than the time intended. Especially Mr. Drosselmayer."

"Electra has the right idea," Alysha agreed. "We should wait for the right moment. In the meantime, how about we get a fire going? Even with this Aquarian outfit my mom made me for winter occasions, it's still pretty stinking cold."

Electra snapped her fingers, quickly conjuring a fireplace. She sat down, rubbing her hands together slightly. Alysha also sat down to join her, rubbing her hands together, though more rapidly.

Natalie held a cornflower-blue mug in one hand. "Hot chocolate anyone?" she offered.

Electra shook her head. "No thanks," she replied.

Alysha nodded. "Sure," she said, relieved. "Thanks, Natalie!"

Back in the Drosselmayer house, Aunt Drosselmayer was talking with Clara, telling her of all the adventures she encountered since she last visited Mr. Drosselmayer: "I met an emperor, I sailed on a junk, I had my first rickshaw ride, and I hiked the Great Wall of China!" she said dreamily.

"Elizabeth, I would appreciate it if you stopped filling Clara's head with stories," Mr. Drosselmayer reprimanded. "Just because you go traipsing around the globe rather than staying put like a sensible person!"

But Aunt Drosselmayer stood firm. "There's a world full of wonders out there, Uncle. Clara deserves to experience them... uh, your guests are waiting."

Outside, Electra shared a determined glance with Alysha. "It's time," she whispered. "Come on, Powerix, let's walk in."

Alysha and Natalie followed behind the fairy of energy, ready to see what the trouble was all about.
