Ch. 3

Spencer

"What am I looking at here?" I ask Alicia as she shows me a picture of me and Liv laughing as she holds up her phone at me. Clearly angry which is what I'm confused about. She laughs shaking her head.

"Spence don't play dumb...you and Liv look a little too cozy.." I roll my eyes shaking my head as I try to clean up my room for this party I didn't even plan.

"I'm not playing dumb Alicia I'm genuinely asking because you know there's nothing between me and liv and we've been friends since we were kids...so what is this really about?" I ask finally getting my room together.

"Well you did tell me you two lose each other's v card to each other!" She shouts and I look at her stopping in my tracks.

"Alicia I told you that as my girlfriend and because I wanted no secrets between us! But don't repeat that shit again!" I shout back.

"Spence.." she starts and I shake my head.

"Are we clear?" I say not wanting to bring it up again. Alicia finally nods and go back to cleaning my room.

"...I..just...you can't blame me for the trust issues I have Spencer. I know we're trying to get past it but you did cheat on me.."

"Yeah and when we got back together we said we could get past it. I know I did a lot of things in my past and cheating was one of those things I don't do. And I know my dad and brother passing wasn't an excuse but I feel like the grieving I'm trying to do is constant...even with this therapy I'm showing up for...I don't know I just don't think it's helping.." I confess and the energy changes as I sit down on my bed and Alicia sighs sitting next to me.

"Are the therapy sessions not helping?" She asks rubbing my back and I look away not wanting to talk about it especially with this party about to start soon. I try to fight the tears welling up in my eyes when I start to reply Darnell pushes my door open.

"Are we ready to get this party started!!" He screams with a big smile on his face with his pj's already on and his face changes when he sees us. "Oh...my bad am i interrupting something?"

"Yes!" Alicia says and I shake my head wiping my face before either of them can notice.

"Uh naw D um...I'll be down to decorate just uh..start setting up the drinks and go head order the food.." I say getting up as Darnell nods heading downstairs.

"Spence were not done talking..."

"Alicia I really need to get my house ready for this party and we'll definitely have time to talk about this i just really don't want my mood to brought down.." I say trying not to sound like I'm avoiding the conversation when that's exactly what I'm doing. "And you're the only girl I see okay...and you have nothing to worry about..ok?" I finish as I cup her cheeks with my hands as I give her kiss on the forehead as she nods. "I'll back...I need to check on Darnell before he burns my house down and the party hasn't even started yet.." I laugh a little as she gets out her duffle bag to get ready.

"Ok.." she says and I leave my room closing the door behind me. I make a big sigh hitting my head on the back of my door.

Olivia

I flip through my book as I sit at my desk with my window half open and I hear the loud music next door as I groan getting up shutting my window. I start to look for my headphones as I groan again not finding them. I get interrupted when I hear a knock on my door and I face it.

"You know you wouldn't be so grumpy if you were at the party.." my dad says and i roll my eyes.

"Dad...it's right next door...if I wanted to go I would have.." I pause and I finally find my headphones. "Found them.." I say to myself as I walk to my bed.
