Atom is the name of a boy that had an amazing life. He was born on May 29,1999. He was a premature child. It is now the year 2014 and he has just found out some shocking news about hisself. He was adopted and he never knew. Now he is at war with hisself because he thinks he was not good enough for his biological family. He wonders about them everyday crying and longing to see them. No one knows or understands his pain. All he knows is that he is depressed and he feels as if he cannot take much more of this suffering and he just wants to end it all.
Atom is a smart boy in the ninth grade. School is a big problem for him. Many people pick with or joke with him as they call it, but they do not realize the agony they are putting him through. He laughs an appears to be having fun. Atom hides his emotions very well and he does it each and everyday except the one day in his family class and he complety falls apart. He tries to fight every tear, but he just cant anymore. He see thought about how his original family did not want him. Quickly his only friend comes to attempt to relieve his pain. Atom's best friend does know about the adoption. Atom feels devistated about the whole situation. He goes home and decides to cry some more to release some of his emotions, but this time that does not seem to be enough. He wants help, but he does not talk about his problems he only writes them.
A month has past since Atom's breakdown and he has finally decided to get some asistance with his problems. He is going to a phycologist, he considers him a friend now. His phycologist's name is Scott. Atom can trust Scott with everything. Surprisingly he does, Atom's trust is very hard to gain, but easy to lose. Atom finally feels relieved, but he is far from it. By the fourth month with Scott his progress took and enormous leap backwards. Instead of helping Atom, Scott turned crazy by Atom's problems. Scott diagnosed that he was schizophrenic. Schizophrenia is a brain disorder. Scott figured that out by the stories Atom was sharing sharing. They were insane.
Atom now starts to research about this disorder. He finds out that it can cause halluncinations, hearing voices, and losing the ability to know the difference between real and unreal. Now Atom is going back to his phycologist to find out that he is quiting because of him. Scott could not handle Atom anymore. Atom's heart, soul, and spirit was crushed once again by trusting. His life has been fliped upside down. Ever since that day Atom has withdrawn hisself from society. He never wants to feel that pain again, he trust no one. Atom has planned his whole life. He is not going to love, trust, or impress anybody. He has promised to hisself to also help anyone and everyone who needs.
Atom has not been to school in a week and he sees a new face in class. Her name was Lexus Orth. She was from Michigan. He could tell she was sucidal, a cutter, and depressed just like him. Atom could tell by what she was wearing. An oversized baby blue jacket to cover her scars, wrist bands to cover her scars, and pants to cover her legs. Her make-up tells him the rest. Lexus decides to aproach Atom. They have a short conversation, but what they talked about meant a thousand words. They became best friends and Atom forgot all about his promises except for the one to help. He put all of his time twards her. He was falling in love for the first time.
The end of the school year was coming fast and Atom wanted to ask Lexus on a date. He got courage to do it because they really seem to like each other. Lexus was shocked and said no, then ran away crying. Atom instantly felt his heart break and as if he had died emotionally and literally. Lexus felt horrible and started having an anxienty attact, but at the same time Atom had one, too. They called each other from homeand discussed the topic.
On the phone they could not calm down. They were apoligizing for what they did. Atom apoligizes for being ugly and unwanted. Lexus told him that he was not ugly and she cares and wants him in her life. She also apoligizes for breaking his heart. That night i dawn on Atom that she lead him on to his hearts disire and then squashed it like a bug. Lexus has notice what she has done and wants to fix it. At school the next day Atom is walking the halls like a dead man. Lexus ran to him and gave him a big hug. Atom hugs back and smiles. Lexus says "Sorry about yesterday, but we can't date." Atom askes "Why not?" She stares at Atom and he can see the world crumble in her eyes. Lexus walks off and then shortly collaspes to the ground. Atom runs to her side side and sees a cut on arm that will not stop bleeding. Atom and Lexus had the same thought last night that it was time to go, Atom also had a cut that would not stop. Atom begins to hear a voice and see a man that is not really there. The man approaches and touches Atom and says to him" She is leaving and so are you." He laughs and dissappears.
They both were rushed to the hospital. They were losing blood rapidly. They promised each other that if one go we both go as one. Lexus was turning more and more pale by the minute. She uses her last few breathes to tell Atom that she loves him with all of her heart and she knew this day would come that is she said no. Atom said to her" I love you, too with all my heart, soul, and strength." Their eyes closed and their pain was relieved, Lexus and Atom was now together forever.
