"Ling" - Orm looks at her with puppy eyes, the corner of her mouth turns upside down. She sniffs her nose a little.

Orm raises her palms, trying to trace along Ling Ling's face. Ling Ling stays quiet.

Eventually, she grabs Orm's palm...maybe because the atmosphere is too awkward.

"Yes?" - Ling Ling whispers the words under her breath. She places Orm's hand back on her thigh. Orm smiles, but her eyes show the opposite of happiness. She feels bitter inside.

Ling Ling is avoiding her touch.

Orm wants to say: I love you till my heart aches, I miss you till death, I survived when my soul was not there, I want to kiss your cherry red lips.

But instead, she said,

"I know a boulder center, can you go with me this Friday?" - Orm pleads, her voice so weak and low that it can barely be heard.

"Please..."

"Yes, of course. Why are you acting so different today? Come on, don't make me look like a bully," Ling Ling grins. She covers her face with her palm.

"I want to read a philosophy book," Orm says, looking at the bookshelf behind her.

Orm remembers clearly that in the previous life, she sat here with Ling Ling a few times a week. She remembers that Ling Ling likes to read books on human nature philosophy.

Orm never dares to ask Ling Ling to do something for her in her past life. Now that she has one more chance, she wants to enjoy the moments that Ling Ling brings to her. She no longer cares about whether she is being a nuisance to her.

"Which one?" - Ling Ling asked, taking a glimpse of the list of books on the shelf.

"Human nature," a light smirk on her bright face. Very light, making Orm feel envious to see more of it.

The book is full of English. Orm used to struggle with it in her previous life during high school. However, that is only during high school days. English is the only thing she is good at as she grew up.

Every time Orm misses Ling Ling, she would buy an English philosophy book to read. She reads and reads until she familiarizes with all the structures of the stories.

Those books were in bad hands, not even one in good condition after she finished reading. Several tear stains on the pages, all crumpled up, turning brownish.

Orm never tries to reread any of the books. It scared her how much feeling she had for Ling Ling, the woman who is like a star that she will never be able to reach. This time, Orm's avariciousness makes her want to become the sky, as she wants Ling Ling to be within her.

"Here you go" - Ling Ling gently places the book in front of Orm, disrupting her bizarre thoughts.

"Thank you, Ling Ling Kwong~" - Orm says with a baby voice that she never thought she would say in front of Ling Ling.

Orm no longer cares whether this is a dream or a hallucination. She does not know when she will wake up. No matter what it takes, as long as she can spend more time with her beloved Ling Ling.

Orm stares at her with pensive eyes, the corners of her eyes curled up.

"Are you going to read or keep staring at me?" Ling Ling frowns because she feels that something is wrong today but just cannot figure out what it is.

"How do you read this word?" Orm randomly points at a word on the page, the longest word, yes it is always supposed to be the hard one.

Both of them continue to read the pages together, and Orm tries to pretend that she does not know how to read half of the words.

"I wonder what you have learned in Ms. Ne's class," Ling Ling is referring to the English class. She shakes her head and lets out a chuckle.

The bell rings again. They return to the book and go back to the classroom. Orm moves quickly to catch up with Ling Ling's fast pace. She hooks her arm on Ling Ling's arm.

Ling Ling tries to take off her arm, but Orm holds it tighter. She frowns a little but stops avoiding Orm.

The corners of Orm's mouth curl up.
