Synopsis:
Lee Seokmin is a cheerful, multi-talented young man who is friendly with everyone but keeps his true self hidden behind a carefree persona. He lands an internship at a company, where he meets Hong Jisoo (Joshua), the reserved and methodical team leader of the production department. Despite their contrasting personalities, Seokmin is drawn to Joshua’s calm and mysterious nature.
At first, Seokmin tries to impress Joshua with his outgoing energy, but Joshua remains distant, noticing the gap between Seokmin’s public persona and his deeper emotions. This makes Seokmin question his identity and whether he’s been hiding who he really is. As they work together, Seokmin begins to see Joshua’s own vulnerabilities and insecurities, realizing that both of them have more in common than they thought.
Their evolving relationship becomes a journey of self-discovery, as Seokmin opens up about his fears, and Joshua learns to embrace joy and spontaneity. Through their connection, they both realize that people are more than just their outward appearances—true understanding comes from seeing beyond the surface.
Lee Seokmin adjusted his tie as he stood in front of the mirror, taking a deep breath. His first day at the new internship. The nerves weren’t a surprise—they always showed up, but he had learned to hide them under a mask of optimism.
Today, it was even more important to keep that mask on. After all, this wasn’t just any company. This was the company—renowned for its production department, and he had been lucky enough to land an internship here. Seokmin had spent months preparing for this moment, studying the company's values, memorizing key figures, practicing his introduction in front of the mirror. And now, it was finally time to step into that world.
He glanced at his phone—Team meeting in 15 minutes. His pulse quickened. He had read the employee handbook, researched the team’s projects, but nothing could prepare him for meeting Joshua, the production team leader. Hong Jisoo—Joshua—was known for his composure, his quiet intensity. He didn’t seem like someone who would appreciate flashy introductions. Seokmin knew he had to tread carefully.
Taking a final look at himself in the mirror, he gave a small nod of reassurance. You’ve got this. He grabbed his notebook and headed out the door.
The walk down the hallway felt longer than it should have, his footsteps echoing in the almost eerily quiet building. When he finally reached the conference room, he hesitated at the door, pausing to take another breath. It was now or never.
“Knock, knock,” he said to himself, though he wasn’t sure if he was trying to reassure himself or not. He opened the door.
Immediately, his eyes found Joshua. Seated at the head of the table, his posture perfect, eyes scanning through the documents in front of him, Joshua exuded the kind of calm authority that Seokmin had heard so much about. The rest of the team sat around the table, all appearing focused and quiet, waiting for the meeting to begin.
Joshua’s gaze lifted just enough to meet Seokmin’s eyes, and for a split second, Seokmin froze. There was something in Joshua’s eyes—something unreadable. It made Seokmin feel like an intruder. He quickly shook off the feeling and walked over to the empty seat beside Joshua.
“Ah, Seokmin,” Joshua’s voice broke the silence, his tone smooth, calm. “Please, take a seat.”
Seokmin’s heartbeat picked up, but he forced himself to smile as he sat down, setting his notebook on the table. He could feel Joshua’s presence beside him, calm and quiet, as though his very being demanded attention without uttering a word.
The meeting began, and Seokmin focused on staying alert. Joshua led the discussion with ease, laying out the project details in a calm and methodical manner. The others nodded, taking notes and asking questions when necessary, but it was clear that Joshua had everything under control. Seokmin had always prided himself on his ability to be the one to energize a room, but now he found himself sitting quietly, his usual chatter kept in check by the sheer magnitude of Joshua’s presence.
How does he do it? Seokmin couldn’t help but wonder. Joshua didn’t raise his voice or make grand gestures. Yet, everyone hung on his every word. Seokmin glanced at the team members around the table, all seemingly in sync with one another, following Joshua’s lead without hesitation. He had barely spoken, and yet, they all seemed to share the same understanding.
Seokmin shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He was used to being the life of the room, the one who broke the ice, the one who filled every pause with his own energy. But here? There was no room for that. It was clear that this team wasn’t about making noise—it was about precision.
The meeting continued, and Seokmin did his best to follow along. He took notes, tried to contribute when he could, but every time he looked at Joshua, he felt a growing sense of awe—and pressure. There was something magnetic about him. He wasn’t just a team leader. He was someone who commanded respect without even trying.
When the meeting wrapped up, the team stood to leave, their conversations low and efficient. Seokmin gathered his things, hesitating for a moment before standing up. As he was about to leave, he felt a hand on his arm.
“Seokmin.”
He turned, startled. Joshua was still sitting at the table, his eyes meeting Seokmin’s with a slight, almost imperceptible smile.
“You’ve got a lot of energy,” Joshua said, his voice calm, as always. “
