You went to your room, changed into a fresh saree, and came downstairs to wait at the dining table. Soon, everyone arrived, and dinner began. You quietly served food to everyone, standing near your mother-in-law.

Asi-Ma, your grandmother-in-law, looked at you with a sharp gaze while you were serving.

Asi-Ma: "Do you still have a fever?"

Her tone was cold but carried a hint of demand. Startled, you paused for a moment and looked at her.

You: "N...no."

You shook your head slightly, your voice soft and hesitant.

Your aunt-in-law sat nearby, her face betraying her feelings. She was boiling with jealousy. For years, no one had asked about her health or shown her this kind of concern. Watching Asi-Ma care about you felt like a stab to her pride, and she struggled to hide her bitterness.

Namjoon glanced at you briefly, noticing how weak and pale you looked. Still, he stayed quiet and continued eating his food.

Taehyung: In a calm, cold tone "Curry."

His words broke the awkward silence lingering among the family. You walked over and served him, avoiding any eye contact.

In this house, women's health was rarely a concern for anyone, except for Asi-Ma. Though she appeared cold and distant, it wasn't entirely true. She had a way of showing care that others might not understand.

Everyone respected her deeply, which is why no one dared to disobey her. Well, no one except Yoongi-the most savage person in the family. He always had a way of challenging her authority, but even he knew where to draw the line when it came to her rules.

After dinner, you picked up the dishes and carried them to the kitchen, placing them in the sink.

You: "Eomma, Aunt, I'll handle the cleaning. You both can rest."

Your aunt-in-law gave you a sharp look, her expression filled with annoyance. She rolled her eyes secretly, but you didn't notice it.

Mother-in-law: "No, Y/N, take a break. I'll clean everything."

Aunt-in-law: "Yes, Y/N, you should go. Your husband must be waiting for you."

Her words sounded polite, but the mocking tone was clear. you tucked the pallu of your saree into your waistband, preparing to work. While you missed the taunt, your mother-in-law didn't. She shot your aunt-in-law a sharp, firm look, silently telling her to leave the kitchen. Feeling embarrassed, your aunt-in-law left without another word.

You: "no no Eomma, I'll clean the kitchen. But could you make me a cup of coffee?"

Eomma nodded and started making coffee while you focused on washing the dishes. Coffee was unfamiliar to you-you'd never made it or even tasted it. To you, it was something entirely new and different.

After finishing the kitchen work, you wiped the counter with a clean cloth and washed your hands. Turning around, you saw Eomma watching you with a calm yet caring expression.

She walked over, gently guided you to a chair, and made you sit down. Then, she handed you a glass of golden milk (milk with turmeric powder). You looked at her, slightly confused.

Eomma smiled softly and placed her palm under your chin.

Eomma: "You seem too weak, Y/N. Focus on your health, hmm?"

Her words were filled with warmth and care. You smiled at her, feeling comforted, and nodded. Slowly, you started drinking the golden milk. Eomma stayed for a moment, watching you, before leaving the kitchen quietly.
