"feeling hypnotized by the words that you said"
9 years later
March 2016Ding! The doorbell rang throughout the Jeongs' house.
"Is that Taehyun?" Heejin called across the hall of the second floor.
"Probably," Heewon said as she opened the door. "Hi," she said to him as she ran back upstairs to finish getting ready.
"I wait for the day that you two are already ready when I come."Heewon rolled her eyes at him. "You wouldn't get it."
Heechan agreed with Taehyun. "You guys seriously take so long."
"You're talking. You spend hours in the bathroom on that hair," Heejin said, walking into Heewon's room. She nodded her chin up at his gelled hair.Heewon snickered and grabbed her phone. "Let's go."
The 4 had been walking to school together since... a long time."Gosh, it's so cold." Heewon wrapped her arms around herself, puffs of air coming out of her mouth as she spoke.
"Yeah." Heejin was still cold under her 3 layers. The two boys were immersed in their own conversation, talking about the recent soccer game at their school.
"Minkyu saved the game last minute... did you see his field goal?"
Heechan shook his head. "That was luck; he meant to block Jangwon but it went farther than he thought."
"I'll say. That dude shouldn't be goalie; he should consider offense or something. He dribbles well and has good stamina."
"No, have you even seen him when he plays against our defense; he can't even get past them. Trust me, he's better off as goalie."Heechan was on the soccer team. He was so obsessed with soccer, sometimes it was the only thing he would do all day on the weekends that whenever he wasn't see in his own home, he was 99% on the field training. He'd been playing since they were in elementary school, steadily improving and finally making varsity in their second year of middle school. Needless to say, it was a huge ego boost for him, and his popularity skyrocketed after.
Taehyun played alongside him, having made the team in his first year. They were defense together, almost an unstoppable duo when they worked together; years of coordination and teamwork made them play together like one person split into two.
"You guys are so annoying," Heejin complained. "You guys never shut up about soccer."
"Okay, and you never shut up about Min Haejun." Taehyun and Heechan smirked at each other.
"Ugh, whatever."They continued walking.
"Is that your phone?" Heewon noticed a faint ringing sound in his pocket that had went unnoticed by the others.
"Yeah... oh, it's an unknown number," he shrugged, shoving his phone back into his pocket.
It rang again."Answer it," Heechan suggested.
"Sure. All yours." Taehyun handed him the phone. Heechan clutched the phone, pressing the green accept button and holding it up to his ear.
"Press spea-" but Heechan held up a hand, silencing him."Hello?"
"Hello, is this Kang Taehyun?"Heechan's brows were furrowed, confusing the three as they tried to decipher his expression.
"No, who is this?"
There was a brief pause.
"Oh wow. Are you sure?"
"Okay, yes I'll tell him."
"Yes, I have your number now."Taehyun gave him a who tf is that look as soon as Heechan hung up.
Heechan scoffed lightly, but still had a dazed look on his face.
"Who-?"
"I dunno, some entertainment company saying you passed the 'audition' or something."Taehyun froze. "Bighit Entertainment?"
"Yeah, I think so. Did you audition for them?"Heewon and Heejin were immersed in the conversation, eyes rapidly switching from Heechan back to Taehyun.
"Yes. Give me the phone," Taehyun gestured to Heechan's hand that was still holding his phone.
"What- back up. What audition?" Heewon couldn't help but ask.
"I went down to this random company a few weeks ago to audition to become a trainee."
