The Waverly Hotel of the fifth floor

"My friend Montague said that you have been keeping a close eye on his daughter, and I was hoping that you would be able to partake in my offer."

Said Patrick with a brisk smile as he gently shuffled off some dirt on his coat.

He was never the best person, but he was closest to family that I had at least when it came to the city. Sadly, most of the family that I did know we're all deadbeats or close to being dead themselves... I was told myself that my family was perfect because I had no other family to rely on, and I knew that if I kept my hopes up, I would see it all be worth i-

"Hey kid, are you with me?"

Said Patrick, with his heavy tone yet again snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Listen kid, you can't keep just zoning out on me like that. Are you going to accept the deal or not?"

"The only reason why I even gave you this deal in the first is because these people are loaded and you can really get a high boost on your rank if you play your cards right."

As he said those words to me he began putting his hand on my shoulder staring at me with a serious glare.

"I know your life has been tough but this can really be useful to you and the only reason why I'm letting you have a chance like this is because I see us more than just some scrap on the street... you're like family and I want to make sure my family is able to meet their needs..."

I slightly shuttered as he said those words to me even though I knew I wasn't in danger, I still felt immense fear as he spoke but before long he began letting go of my shoulder and returned to his fatherly smile

"So... kid, what do you say?"

He stared at me for a second and then after the small amount of silence, he began raising his hand, opening it, waiting for a handshake.

The silence was almost deafening I stared his hand contemplating and thinking if this was what I really wanted but an option to free myself from the shackles of my family's mistakes is a deal I couldn't pass up for long.

So... with a small amount of hesitation I laid my hand within his and began shaking it.

"I'm happy that you were able to agree with me, kid. I'll give them a call and let them know that you've taken the deal, after an hour or so they should reply back sending a car to come and get you..."
