The Greater Good

Chapter One..

Ebony and her mother walk the streets..it's eerily empty for a musical, vibrant town like the town of Funkin.

Ebony looks around nervously.

"Mom, are you sure we should be out this late?"

Her mom, Vikki, replies...

"Yeah! It's our usual night walks. What's wrong with that, hun?"

Ebony pulls out a flashlight from her pocket as she shines it into the dark alleys.

"I don't know, mom...it seems too quiet."

Vikki raises an eyebrow, before realizing other people are usually out during the night.

"...yeah. You're right.. it does seem quiet."

Vikki ponders thoughtfully, before she suddenly yells- 💀

"IS IT LOUDER NOWWW?!?!?"

Vikki smirks, looking at Ebony.. Ebony cringes in surprise and annoyance, as she also facepalmed herself.

A man started walking from the town square, towards Ebony and Vikki. Vikki raises an eyebrow, and Ebony nervously spoke out.

"U-UHM...SORRY SIR! MY MOM'S TOO LOUD.." Ebony gulped quietly.

Ebony shines her light at the man, and froze. This man was in a white tuxedo, and had a cloud shaped head. It's Updike, the leader of The Greater Good.

"...Don't let your mother disturb the nightly peace, will you child?..." Updike told Ebony in a dead voice.

"...O-Okay." Ebony nods, as Updike walks away into the darkness.
