Episode 2 A World Unseen

Elysia and I walked together towards the classroom but, not far away we stepped away from our rest area suddenly Elysia stopped.

I looked back at Elysia.

"What's the matter Elysia?"

Elysia was silent not responding to my question, until she slowly turned back staring back at the tree where we were resting.

"You left something there Elysia?"

"No." Elysia replied in a low voice.

I, who still didn't understand, waited for Elysia until I realized the light surrounding Elysia began to grow brighter as if she was reacting to something.

"Elysia, let's go back to class our break time is up, we can be late." 

Elysia turned to me "You first I'll catch up" and she looked back at the tree.

How could I leave Elysia here alone when she doesn't even know where her class is.

I decided to wait for Elysia anyway. I waited because I was a little worried that she would get lost again and was curious about what was really wrong with Elysia.

I saw Elysia start to clench her hands as if she was preparing to hit someone. The clueless me just watched what she was actually doing. She looked like a strange girl until, suddenly a crack appeared where we were sitting earlier. The crack was like a crack of a wall that had been hit by an earthquake. However, the crack was neither on the tree nor on the ground. It seemed like it just appeared floating in the air. Slowly and slowly the crack was getting bigger.

Elysia shouted "Ren run, go, find a safe place."

At the same time I couldn't possibly leave Elysia alone with a suspicious crack that suddenly appeared in front of us.

"Elysia let's run, it looks like it changes that we'd better run quickly."

Elysia didn't want to listen to my words at all she seemed fixated on preparing for something. But I felt it was dangerous without thinking.

quickly grabbed Elysia's hand and pulled her to run away from this place.

"What are you thinking, why just shut up let's run"

The previously small crack was now getting bigger and bigger. Right after I tried to pull Elysia's hand suddenly the crack exploded giving off a dark red light that quickly spread to all sides.

I quickly pulled and hugged Elysia, protecting her from the explosion. I don't know what I was thinking I spontaneously hugged trying to protect Elysia.

The explosion seemed harmless, he only made a loud noise and a strange dark red light yet it didn't hurt me at all. It was what I thought before until all of it was refuted as I started to open my eyes. We seemed to have moved places to places I didn't know at all.

I started to let go of my arms with a slight embarrassment for spontaneously hugging Elysia.

"Elysia are you okay?"

"I'm fine, thank you for trying to protect me" Elysia replied as she tidied up the clothes and looked around.

" Yes, you're welcome. "

I, who was still confused, looked around too. This place was so strange with a blood-red sky and the clouds were the same red but darker. The surrounding area was so dark, the ground was dry, and strange trees were black like without leaves.

I felt a little scared and couldn't believe it, how could we suddenly be here. I just kept looking around seeing a lot of strange things that were the first time in my life I saw them.

"Where exactly is this?" I said with curiosity and a little fear.

"We're in....."

Before Elysia could finish speaking suddenly a huge creature appeared attacking us. Elysia quickly raised her hand forward and the light surrounding her grew brighter her hair began to expand flying as if a wind was blowing it. Then suddenly a glass-like layer appeared protecting us from the creature's attack.

"What is that?"

"Elysia what's going on?"

"Who exactly is Elysia you?"
