02- the premiere

"I feel like I should go for a pared-down make-up look tonight, not too much but not too little, you know?" said Ivy as she sipped her large iced latte. Her make-up artist nodded in agreement and rushed to fulfil her request. She didn't want to upstage the actors, but she still wanted to look good. The make-up artist began to work her way through Ivy's make-up, using every kind of brush, lipstick or eyeshadow, perfectly executing her movements to bring out Ivy's natural beauty without covering it up.

"Coral or baby pink," the make-up artist, Tanya, said as she held up the two blushes. "Er, definitely coral." 

Tanya nodded and added a little blush to Ivy's cheeks. As Tanya added setting spray, Ivy looked up from her phone at the mirror in front of her and knew instantly that her make-up was done. She looked at herself several times and couldn't help but smile. "Thank you Tanya". Tanya smiled and greeted her. Ivy then stood up to put on her dress. Immediately her body was draped in a sparkling sheer nude dress. The delicate fabric hugged her curves with glittering details. The dress had a strapless bodice that accentuated her figure. Ivy smiled at her reflection, admiring the final touches to her look. "You look beautiful, Ivy, really."

The next thing she knew, she was sitting in the back of a sleek limousine, the lights of the city reflected through the tinted windows. Her heart began to beat faster as they approached the venue. Outside we could already see the crowds gathering, cameras flashing, waiting to capture every moment of her arrival. The driver stopped just outside the venue, Ivy took another deep breath knowing she was there, he got out of the car and then opened the door for Ivy who smiled at him kindly as a thank you. In two easy steps she was out of the car, suddenly a couple of paparazzi started shouting her name and taking pictures, her dress sparkling under the camera flashes. "Ivy here!" said one paparazzi, "Ivy, just one picture please," said another. Ivy just walked straight into the venue.The atmosphere inside the venue was different, even more people and crowds than outside. Everyone was there to see the cast of Outer Banks and various celebrities who had been invited, including Ivy. Even though she has been a model for a while, she is more of an introvert and gets really uncomfortable in moments like this, she started breathing heavily and looking for where to go.

"Ivy?" A familiar voice.

"Oh thank God you're here Maddie." It was none other than her friend, Madelyn Cline.

"Let's go take pictures on the red carpet before the premiere starts," Madelyn replied. Ivy smiled and followed her. The two young women walked through a corridor to get to the other side of the venue to line up for the red carpet, which was probably already filled with actors and celebrities waiting to get their pictures taken.

"Cline!" A male voice said from behind the girls.

They both turned to see the man calling out to Madelyn. "Oh damn Starkey." Madelyn said with a smile, then stepped back to greet the young man. Ivy looked at the man for a long time, she didn't know him. He must be from  Outer Banks, to be honest she hasn't even watched the show, Madelyn luckily doesn't know that. 

Madelyn then turned and took Ivy's hand. "Oh, Drew, this is Ivy, she's the friend I told you about on set." Drew glanced over, his expression unreadable at first. But as his gaze settled on Ivy, a small, polite smile formed on his face, just enough to show that he was paying attention. He brought his hand forward, his touch warm but brief. "Ivy, right?" he said, his voice deep and calm. "Madelyn's mentioned you a few times."

Ivy nodded, "All good things, I hope?" she replied with a slight grin, keeping her tone light.

Drew chuckled softly, "Mostly," he teased before slipping his hand back into his pocket, his attention already shifting as the line moved forward. It was just a moment, a brief encounter in a crowded hallway. But when Ivy turned back to Madelyn, she couldn't help but feel the faintest spark, one that made her wonder if he was noticing her for a little longer than necessary.

"Who does he play?" Ivy said as the line moved forward.

"Well actually you should know because he plays my brother in the show Ivy.." Madelyn said confused. "Wait, have you even seen the show?"

"Well..."

"No way Ivy! You told me you did." Madelyn said laughing at her friend.

"No, no seriously Maddie I tried but the first two episodes were so boring I just couldn't get through them..."

"Damn, I'm offended."

"No, but I bet you look incredibly hot as ever in the show, as per usual".

"yeah yeah" said Madelyn while offering her friend a fake smile. 

And suddenly the crowd went wild as the line began to move forward. Ivy leaned forward slightly, trying to see who had caused such a reaction from the fans. Up ahead she saw him - Drew. He moved through the flashing lights with an ease that seemed almost natural, giving the photographers a small, polite smile. Ivy couldn't help but feel a twinge of curiosity, but she quickly looked away, reminding herself that she was here for her own moment, not to be distracted by someone else's.

Finally, it was Ivy's turn. The lights brightened as she stepped forward, the camera flashing in her eyes. She took a steady breath, letting herself go into the moment, feeling the energy around her but staying grounded. She smiled a few practiced smiles and turned slightly as the photographers called her name. She felt a little nervous, but as she moved down the carpet, her nerves began to fade. Ivy was used to it.And then, out of the corner of her eye, she thought she saw Drew standing off to the side, watching her pose. For a split second their eyes met, a brief, almost accidental glance. Ivy looked away quickly, pretending not to notice, her heart skipping a beat despite herself.
