"You and I are two very different people Horikita."

"Yes I know very well that we are Ayanokoji. I didn't think any less in the slightest."

"Yet we have similarities."

"Similarities?" She was confused, she didn't think they had similarities in the slightest- she in fact was heavily against it, similarities with Ayanokoji Kiyotaka of all people? She was against that fact, "You're lying."

He moved on from that statement and then he bewildered her with a different question, "Have you ever been in love, Horikita?"

"That's quite a personal question, isn't it? Almost hypocritical of you to ask, after all, you do always say to never pry into your life." She calmly said, her arms crossed over her chest in the cold of the night.

She wondered why he had called her up to the rooftop - an isolated place where not many go at 9pm.

"You are correct, you do not have to answer if you don't wish to."

She thought for a moment before deciding to answer the question, "I have not been in love. I never thought it was necessary to fall in love. I can support myself and stand alone, why would I need someone to catch me when I fall when I know that I won't fall?"

A moment of silence cascaded the room.

"You're wrong, Horikita." He said calmly, "You already fell."

It was a simple sentence but it was one that pierced through her.

"How absurd. I'm leaving." She turned around, ready to leave at the accusation almost immediately.

"You fell at the Island exam. You were at your lowest and you could not fight back. Who caught you when you fell, Horikita?"

She hesitated to move forward.

She knew the answer to the question. She remembered the scene all too well - her loosing against Ibuki, lying in the rain, cold and alone. She remembered passing out only to wake up in the arms of Ayanokoji carrying her to the teachers. Weakness was something she hated.

"You know for a fact that you used me to win, you disregarded any thought of trying to make me better and made me worse. You told them to dump mud on my head. You did not catch me Ayanokoji , you caused me to fall."

"That may be true, but even if I made you fall, I still caught you."

"That doesn't change the fact. What are you trying to get at here Ayanokoji? Answer me quick or I'm going back to my room and I'll pretend this conversation never happened."

It was simple and quick, the words he said. Simple and quick but oh so totally unexpected.

"Date me."

Her eyes went wide, he wanted to what with her?

"Excuse me."

"Date me. The similarity we share is that we've never fallen in love. I want to change that. I want to know what it feels like. I want to know what it feels like to trust someone and lean on them."

"Why on earth would I do something as silly as dating you?"

"I proposed a question and to that question, there are two answers, you either tell me yes or you tell me no, now which one do you want to choose?"

She thought.

For some bizarre reason, it wasn't a quick answer that she could just say.

The little girl locked deep inside of her wanted to break free. She wanted to find her Prince Charming and be a princess swooped off her feet bridal style but the her now refused. She wanted to be alone at the top. But what if being alone isn't the best option?

He waited patiently for an answer, standing and facing her as she wore a look of confusion across her face.

She made up her mind.

"I'll humour this. But we have a one month period, 30 days and if - whatever this is doesn't go well, this silly idea of yours is done. Understand?"

"Do you want me to write up a contract?"

"By all means, go ahead."
