The Demon Slayers: The Beginning of the Journey

In a world plagued by terrifying demons, humans are at constant risk of being hunted down and devoured. These demons feed on human flesh and skin to survive, attacking anyone they come across to satisfy their insatiable hunger. But there is a glimmer of hope—Demon Slayers. These warriors dedicate their lives to hunting down and eliminating demons. While it's impossible to slay every demon, the Demon Slayers are relentless, doing whatever it takes to protect humanity from these monstrous creatures.

Now, let's begin our story.

The Encounter with the Strange Couple

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko are making their way back to the Butterfly Mansion, where they stay. As they walk, a couple passes by them. The man and woman appear to be in their late fifties. The woman has black hair streaked with gray, while the man's hair is fully gray. Both have wrinkled faces that speak of age and experience. They're dressed in traditional kimonos: the woman's kimono is dark purple, and the man's is a lighter green. The couple's conversation catches Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu's attention.

Zenitsu, as usual, is distracted and starts nervously talking about the mission they just completed. He mentions how terrifying it was, a sentiment that's pretty typical for him. Zenitsu tends to panic during missions, often fearing the worst when fighting demons.

However, the conversation between the couple is what really piques the interest of Tanjiro and Inosuke.

The woman speaks in a hushed tone, her words filled with curiosity.

Lady: "It seems more people in Shasaki Village have reported seeing a mysterious demon. They say the demon doesn't attack them— it just follows them around, watching them, like it's curious about them."

The man responds with skepticism.

Man: "That's strange. Demons usually tear people apart as soon as they see them. I thought they only ate humans."

At this, Tanjiro and Inosuke exchange worried glances. The idea that a demon might follow people without attacking them is unusual, to say the least.

Zenitsu, however, is completely clueless. He's still rambling about how scary their mission was, oblivious to the conversation happening right next to him.

Tanjiro (whispering to Inosuke): "Did you hear that? The woman said there's a demon in Shasaki Village, but instead of attacking people, it just follows them, curious. This doesn't make sense."

Inosuke (shouting): "We know, idiot! We were standing right here the whole time!"

Zenitsu: "What? What are you talking about?"

Both Tanjiro and Inosuke sigh, exasperated with Zenitsu's usual lack of awareness. Tanjiro, ever the calm one, begins to explain the situation to Zenitsu.

Tanjiro: "We should head to Shasaki Village tomorrow. I want to see if this demon really doesn't attack. But I'm also worried that maybe the woman wasn't telling the truth, and the demon is still dangerous."

Inosuke: "What do you mean? You're worried the lady lied about the demon?"

Tanjiro: "Yeah, I'm worried she might have left out something important. What if the demon is pretending not to be a threat, and it actually does harm people?"

Inosuke: "What the hell, Tanjiro?! Why are you so soft?"

Tanjiro: "I'm not soft!"

Zenitsu: "I'm not going! I'm too scared of those demons, they'll rip my skin off!"

Tanjiro and Inosuke stare at Zenitsu in disbelief. After a long, awkward silence, Zenitsu finally caves in.

Zenitsu: "Fine! I'll go with you guys, but only because if I don't, I'll have to do some other mission tomorrow, and I can't handle that!"

A Quiet Dinner Together

That night, after the day's adventures, the trio sits down for a much-needed dinner. The meal consists of a steaming bowl of udon, a simple but comforting dish. Inosuke, who's often portrayed as wild and always hungry, can't stop drooling over the bowl of noodles. It's clear he hasn't eaten in a while, much to Tanjiro and Zenitsu's amusement.

Zenitsu (while eating): "Wow, this udon is so good!"

Inosuke (stuffing his mouth): "Close your mouth when you're chewing!"

Tanjiro chuckles, watching his friends bicker in their usual way.

The Post-Dinner Chaos

After dinner, Inosuke continues to eat, seemingly insatiable.

Inosuke: "I'm still hungry!"

Zenitsu, looking frustrated, can't help but snap.

Zenitsu: "How is that possible?! You already ate both my and Tanjiro's udon!"

Inosuke lets out a loud, obnoxious burp.

Tanjiro and Zenitsu: "That's too far."

Preparing for the Journey Ahead

Later, after the meal, the trio heads to bed, ready for a long day ahead. Zenitsu, exhausted from the day's events, falls asleep almost immediately.

Tanjiro: "Get some good rest, everyone. We need to wake up early tomorrow."

Inosuke: "Good night, Monjiro!"

Tanjiro: "My name is Tanjiro!"

Inosuke: "Yeah, Monjiro, that's what I said."

Tanjiro: "Ughhh!"
