TW: domestic abuse

After Vivian approached behind the blonde, no words were needed. Siobhan knew what she had to do; it was her only way out. This is what she wanted, who she wanted. She didn't want to waste her life away with what could only be described as an abusive scumbag twice her age. She yearned for the black-haired woman in the blue-striped shirt who had come to save her. Obviously, there was still tension between the pair. Viv thought Siobhan had given up and wasn't strong enough to escape. She believed that the blonde had resigned to her fate, however now it was clear that was not the case. Siobhan thought that Vivian didn't want to help her anymore, she had thought Viv stopped caring. Vivian thought that Siobhan didn't need her, whereas Siobhan thought that Vivian didn't want her. It couldn't be further from the truth.

The relief on the blonde's face was palpable. Her eyes drew instantly from the woman behind her to the ring that weighed down her finger. Such a small thing that was once such beauty, until it was tarnished with meaning. Decisions were made for her and before she knew it, the emerald was laid upon the table in front of her. A smirk grew on her face for the first time in weeks. Maybe all she has been through was worth it if she got to spend the rest of her life with Vivian. The black-haired woman held her hand out and without hesitation, Siobhan took it. She felt like a teenager, sneaking out with a boyfriend her family disapproved of. But this was so much more than that, this was more than just a sneak out past curfew, this was a rescue.

As they almost ran through the corridor, they heard footsteps behind them. "Shibby?" a familiar voice cracked through the brief silence as they stopped. They turned to face the redhead, watching the pair with a smile laced across her lips. "Wait," she reached into her clutch and pulled out a set of car keys, "Take these, Reecey's car, the grey Mercedes over there in the corner." Vivian took the keys from Mia, pocketing them before turning back around to leave. "Siobhan.." Mia began, "Well done, get out there, before he can claw you in further. You made a good choice, I'm proud. Good luck, babe." Never in her life did Siobhan think she'd see that side of Mia, but after all, they had both suffered the abuse of the same man, just in different ways. The blonde muttered a small 'thank you' to Mia, before turning back the way she was going.

The two of them reached the car, still not a word uttered between the pair. The blonde reached her hand out for the keys, before unlocking the car and getting in. She knew the tension would be unbearable, so she played whatever CD was in the player from the beginning. Hearing the intro to Air Hostess by Busted was not how she imagined this to go, but it made total sense with it being Reece's car. Siobhan started the car, driving herself away from the worst possible outcome she could have had.

Despite the distraction of the music, her head ran rampant with thoughts. What would happen if he caught them? What will he do when he finds out? What if this was the wrong decision? The drive became longer by the second as her anxious mind slowed the time. Viv could sense something was wrong and held out her hand. As their fingers interlaced, her racing mind was soothed slightly. Neither of them knew what to say, there was far too much but nothing could leave either of their mouths. The silence only added to the tension, but they could only wait for the other to break it.

The song ended, and the intro to Crashed The Wedding began to play through the car speakers. Vivian instantly recognised the song, a small smirk forming on her face, biting her lip as she desperately held back a laugh. Growing up, Viv listened to Busted a lot, and now they were a comfort band to her. But the irony of this song playing at this exact moment was hilarious to her. She couldn't help but let a small chuckle escape her mouth. Siobhan turned her head slightly, raising her eyebrow at the woman beside her. "Give it a minute, you'll see why it's funny," the black-haired woman explained. Siobhan waited, analysing the song, each lyric until the chorus hit. She laughed as she realised, before returning her attention to the road.
