That morning. He was ready to face her father. He can't wait to finally see her smile genuinely without an ounce of worry weighing in her mind.

Finally, they are gonna be together. He planned on asking to be her boyfriend after this is all over.

As he was walking down the stairs, he had a foreboding feeling. That unknown squeezing of your heart. Where you can't breathe properly. He didn't like it. He worried for her. As he walked faster, something unexpected happened. Lucian, his cousin was running towards him wearing a twisted expression.

"Hahh, hahh. Cleo." He was sweating profusely as he tried to catch his breath.
Lola Ali, she.. she's currently in the hospital. Hahh"

For the first time in his life, he faced the most challenging and torturous decision he has to make.

Give Mikaella her freedom OR be with his Lola Ali who's fighting for her life in the moment.

Tears streamed down his face as he chose the latter.

"Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a local man, whose body was discovered in a downtown alley early yesterday morning with severe bruises and lacerations covering his face and torso. Despite ongoing efforts, the killer remains at large. As the investigation unfolds, revelations about the victim's troubled past have emerged, including a history of domestic violence and alleged abuse of his 17-year-old daughter, prompting mixed reactions from the community."

The children ran around the old man as he concluded his story.

"Wow, so what happened next Lolo Cleo? Is the girl alive? What about the man who promised to save her? What happened to him?" They eagerly asked with curiosity sparkling in their eyes.

The old man laughed, yet his smile was bittersweet. "No one knows what happened to the girl. Was she alive? Did she finally gained her freedom? We can only hope so. As for the man who abandoned her at her most crucial moments, he regreted it. He should have been there. He's probably suffering even now from the decision he made in the past."

"That's so true, Lolo. He deserved to suffer. The father also got what he deserved. For what they did to that poor girl." The children pitied the girl.

But does she really need it? She was strong. She persisted. She faced her nightmares.

The abuse she suffered was incalculable. It was only the tip of the iceberg. For the man to end up like that, the rage that built up over her entire life can never be fully measured.
