Adonis kept me close as we walked back up the driveway. My thoughts were momentarily at a standstill and I tried to prepare myself for what was to come.

The moment we entered the house I could sense all the activity and energy in the room. We walked down a long hallway that had tapestries covering most of the walls. As we rounded the corner, the scene came bursting
to life with light and noise. What looked like a massive kitchen, there were countless people bussing around, cooking pancakes here, bacon over there. Some were setting up tables while others had already began to eat.

What really puzzled me was the attraction in all of their features. And I don't mean that in a shallow way, but just like Adonis, their hair was flawless along with their faces and composure. I couldn't find a single flaw in one
of their appearances, even the little children who ducked around and through their parents legs. Their musical laughter was enough to bring a little smile on my face.

Just like Adonis, their auras were just as vibrant. Although it was obvious that Adonis had the brightest, the others who were running around were in the same position. I closed my eyes as Adonis stopped, allowing me to assess the situation. As I searched through the energy, it was now clear that this other aura was whatever made them part werewolf. It was the only explanation offered at the moment. I focused on the children and discovered there small, but still vibrant, aura was obviously waiting to be released.

I opened my eyes and suddenly felt the pink come to my cheeks. Everyone was staring at me, including the children. The children's short attention span led them to lead their attention elsewhere, but the other adults kept their eyes on mine. I shuffled my feet out of comfort. Adonis cleared his throat, catching the eyes of all those who stared at me. Seeing him they instantly turned their heads and returned to their work.

One girl in particular seemed to be glaring at me. Her short brown hair made her look even more fierce as her green eyes seemed to penetrate me. Her energy was weak, her aura almost nonexistent compared to the others. I returned her glare, the stormy look in my eyes relayed to her that I was not the one to back down. I was a fighter all my life.

"Claire," Adnois snapped. Her green eyes snapped to his momentarily, and she shifted her staring match with him. Similar to me, Adonis appeared to not back down. Claire crossed her arms.

"What?" She grit out. Her face contorted to one of anger. I could feel Adonis' anger radiate again as he was not used to being tested by others.

The look he must have given her told her to step down, but not before she sent one more cold glance to me and returned to what she was doing. I made a mental note to ask about her later, but there were more important things to deal with.

Adonis pulled me away from the kitchen, and past the living room which contained 30 people alone. The house was more bustling and more lively than I had first assumed. While I was expecting dark walls with mystery hidden behind every door, it seemed as if it was the complete opposite.

It felt like a family setting.

The thought and feeling that was once comforting had now left me with an unsettling feeling in not only my stomach, but my chest as well. The thought of a family setting excited me, but scared me as well. I spent the majority of me teens to now my early 20's taking care of myself and being as independent as possible. While it looked nice from the outside, I knew I could never fit in to one of those environments.

Adonis had led me up the stairs now, however there seemed to be little activity up here. I felt myself become calm with the silence, the occasional sparks that were sent throughout my body whenever Adonis touched me seemed to bring me alive. We walked to the third floor, where instead of a hallway with rooms, there was only a set of double doors. It looked as if I was in an office building, the waiting chairs and tables outside the door to match. He pushed open one of the doors to reveal what looked to be a penthouse.
