Maria's POV

I watch from the door as Matt pulls into the driveway, picking me up for school. I head inside the van and wave goodbye to my parents as Nick shuts the door. 
"Niiick!" I hug him and he gives me a cheesy grin.
"Matttt!" I wave as I clip in my seatbelt in the back seat. 
"Chris," I greet him flatly as Nick gets out his phone to show me a tiktok. 
"Maria," He replies, copying my bored tone. Matt groans from the front, annoyed at Chris and I already. 
"Can you guys just get along for like one second?" Matt scowls in the rear-view mirror. Nick nods his head enthusiastically, agreeing with Matt for once. 
"I haven't even said anything to him!" I complain as Chris rolls his eyes in the passenger seat.
"Actually, you just did," he points out and I give him a dirty look. 
"Erm actually!" I mock, sticking my finger up as he huffs, chewing his cheek and leaning back in his chair. 
"OMG! Just shut the fuck up!" Nick yells whilst Matt smacks his leg for shouting in the small space. Chaos has already occurred and I haven't even been in the car for five minutes. Matt pulls in to Clem's place and honks the horn for her to get her ass out of her house. 
"CLEMMY!" Matt rolls down the window and practically shrieks for her to hurry up and get in the car. Clem runs out of her house, her blonde hair and black flicked eyeliner perfect as per usual. 

"Sorry guys!" She apologies and hops in the back beside Nick as we all greet her. 
"See guys, notice how NO beef started when Clem got in the car," Nick explains like a teacher and I roll my eyes. 
"Yeah well that's because everyone likes Clem," I shrug and she smiles at me. 
"aw! Thanks guys," she blushes a little and Chris sighs for what feels like the one hundredth time this morning. 
"You guys done with your mother's meeting yet?"

"Um no, but drive away Matt!" I say, continuing to talk to Nick, Matt and Clem and ignoring Chris for the entire drive.

I rush over to our pretty much assigned lunch table where everyone is already sat eating. 
"Where have you been?" Chris says snarkily.
"Shut the fuck up Chris," I reply and Nick side eyes us. 
"She just sat down and the beef is here already," he mutters under his breath and I snatch the can of Dr Pepper out of his hand. 
"What?" I demand and he hesitates before pretty much growling at me. 
"MY DR PEPPER!" He shrieks, snatching it back as the whole dining hall turns to face us. 
"Shut up Nick!" Matt says, not liking all the attention drawn to us. 
"She started it!" Nick says.
"Oh be quiet and drink your dr pepper you child," Chris shuts Nick up for once as we eat in peace. 

Chris' POV

We've been at school for less than five hours and I couldn't be more grateful that Maria is in none of my classes. So far, anyway. It's been pretty good so far. My friend, Nate,  is in my math and PE which makes everything more enjoyable. And that's saying  a lot considering it's school. Apart from that my days been pretty boring apart from the drama Maria keeps causing. Honestly I'm not that mad about it, I find it more amusing than annoying. I just hate how irritable she can be sometimes. Also, she never shuts the fuck up and closes her mouth. I swear to god that girl is always talking and never runs out of things to yap about. For a moment I stop day dreaming and look at what I'm supposed to be doing  but then I remember it's computer science and would rather eat a fucking spider than listen to what my teacher is saying.

I've only got one class left and just my luck, Maria is waiting outside. Fuck. I grimace and wait outside a few feet away from her, watching as she agressively bites her fingernails . 
"Stop staring dumbass," she catches me and I sneer at her. 
"Delusional," I say and she raises an eyebrow. 
"You-" she starts but is interrupted as a blonde haired girl comes up to me, twirling her straight hair around a finger. 
"Heyy Chris," she smiles at me and I can't help but be awkward. 
"Oh, hey Lia," I watch how Maria reacts and judging by the scowl on her face I know exactly how to react. 
"How was your summer?" She asks in a flirty tone and I smirk and look down at her. 
"Oh so good, how was yours?" 
"Ugh, couldn't have been better!" She exclaims, telling me all about it as we enter class. The entire class lets out an audible groan as there's a seating chart on the board. 
"Well, see ya Lia," I smile at her and she waves me goodbye as she takes her seat. I look over to Maria and see her clench her fists. Ooh bad luck! I wonder who she has to sit next to. I check my seat and, fuck me, I'm sat next to Maria. 

"Maria," I greet her and I sit down on the stool beside her but she's too busy staring furiously at Lia. 
"Someone jealous?" I ask and she turns to face me. 
"WHAT! No!" She defends herself immediately but I just shrug and face the teacher. 

A/N-
