No matter how impulsive she had been her whole life, one thing she never did was regret. She made decisions in rush, changed them if they didn’t suit her, but never regretted.

But for the first time in her life, she regretted.

Regretted not thinking even once before doing anything. Or at least not consulting anyone before doing it. Her intention wasn’t wrong, but what she did was the wrong thing.

When he left, the door slammed shut behind him, leaving behind a vacuum so suffocating that Haseena felt as if the walls were closing in. The sound echoed in her ears, reverberating louder than any argument they’d ever had. For the first time, her impulsiveness, which once charmed and amused Anubhav, had driven a wedge between them.

Her mind replayed his words: “Hats off to you, Haseena Malik.”
She flinched as though the words themselves were a slap. No, Haseena Anubhav Singh, she corrected herself bitterly. The name that once felt like an honor now hung heavily on her.

Her tears continued to flow as she sat on the cold floor, knees drawn to her chest. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be.

She had thought she was saving him, protecting him, standing up for him when he couldn't do it for himself. But she had underestimated the one thing that defined Anubhav which was his integrity.

For hours, she sat in the silence, her mind swinging between self-loathing and anger. By the time dawn painted the sky in hues of orange, she had made a decision.

If he wouldn’t fight for himself, she would fight for both of them.

........

Back at home, Haseena was already on her feet, determined to make things right.

She knew Anubhav wouldn’t approve of her plan, but she didn’t care. She had learned the hard way that waiting for things to fix themselves wasn’t an option.

She dressed sharply, her hair pulled back in a no-nonsense bun, and headed out.

By evening, Haseena was at the CM’s office. Her mama ji had arranged a second meeting, but this time, she wasn’t there to bargain. She was there to confront.

“CM Sahab,” she said, her voice steady despite the nerves threatening to choke her.

"Haseena Malik... Balke kahna chahiye k Haseena Anubhav Singh.. ap ne humain bataya hi nahi k ap humare DSP ki patni hai to hum..."

She cut him in mid "phir ap Kya karte? Humare ache se sawagat karte?" She was in the edge. "Ya phir deal hi nahi karte?" She was looking into his eyes. No matter politician or not, she knew where her father stood in this food chain. The CM also knew this.

She made a deal but didn't transfer the money as it will be difficult for her to collect this large amount of cash.

“nahi nahi, Haseena ji, hum aisa ku karain ge. Bus Herat hai k ap jaisi patni k hote hue bhi..”

Haseena slammed her fist.. "bus... Apne pati k khilaf ek lafz nahi sune ge. Inke Jaisa imandar aur sucha insan croro main ek hota hai. Par apko kaise pata hogi yeh bat kuk ap to khud hi corrupt hai. Aur Rahi bat deal ki to humari deal cancel."

His face turned red with rage. "Ap janti bhi hai k ap Kya kah Rahi hai? Jo investigation khatam hui hai dobara bhi shuru kar sakte hai?" His tone held threat.
