Amelie POV:
Amelie had gone through her birthday just fine.
It hadn't been eventful at school, no one but maybe her friends casually saying happy birthday.
Not that she cared. She wasn't one for dramatics. Rather have someone just say, "Oh, hey, happy birthday!", rather than some strategic locker decor her friends had insisted on. Alas, they wouldn't listen when she said they really didn't need to, but that didn't matter. School was finally over. Now, for the 20 minute walk to her house through the forest. Great.
The walk wasn't so bad, it gave her a minute to think. But today, it just felt- eerie. The leaves crunching under her feet might have been the only noise save for squirrels, the silence echoing in Noelle's head. Suddenly, the hum of low static entered her ear, sending her spinning on her heel. Pulling out the only thing in her backpack she could find, a she held out a finely sharpened pencil, arms outstretched.
"If there's someone there, this isn't funny!"
No response.
"I know there's someone there!"
Still, no response.
Amelie lowered the pencil, still on edge, but too tired to care. She started to walk, still turning her head as she did so. As soon as she started walking, she swore she saw something run behind her, causing her pencil to be whipped out yet again.
But this time, it wasn't met by air.
??????? POV:
The girl stood there, obviously not scared. Noted. Her demeanor seemed serious, and she held out- a pencil? Probably the only thing she had on her, poor dear. "Well, hello! I congratulate you on actually noticing me, dear!"
The girl looked him dead in the eyes. Dead. Haha, good one.
"What are you? And better question, what business do you have with me?"
I raised an eyebrow.
"As for the what of that question, I am a demon. And the business I have with you? You don't want to know, dear."
"I think I do." her eyes narrowed. Ah, this one was going to be difficult, wasn't she?
"Well then! You might want to sit down, dear, this'll be complicated."
Amelie POV:
"You're joking... right?"
A demon. Me. Just- peachy.
"Afraid not, my dear! But not to worry, you aren't expected to be absolutely evil. Unless you would like to be?"
I shook my head quickly, not really into that. I looked down at myself, not seeing why I would be a demon.
"So, I'm some sort of human-demon half blood? Because I look quite fucking human."
The demon scoffed, obviously not approving of her choice of words, but replied nonetheless.
"Language. While that is true, you still are a full demon. Your parents, can't say the same though, my dear. "
My eyebrows raised.
"What do you mean?"
The demon laughed, wiping his monocle for no apparent reason.
"Let's just say- You are quite the mix of blood, my dear. Angelic, human, and demonic... How intriguing..."
"What do you mean by angelic, demonic, and human!?"
"Well, I'll save that for another day. You do have to get back to your house, do you not, dear?"
I fixed my backpack, making sure the straps were over my shoulders, and replied softly.
"Yeah..."
"Well then, I'll see you tomorrow. Here. Same time. And if you're not here, I'll bring you here. Adieu, my dear."
And with that, the demon melted into the ground, almost disappearing into the shadows, not leaving a trace.
"Oh shit..."
Alastor POV:
I teleported back into my tower, immediately crashing into my chair. That girl... I swear, if she hadn't been Lilith's daughter... she would be up above.
"So someone's finally back. My daughter was wondering where you were, missing her activity. Of course, when I come up to your room, you're not here."
Alastor jolted when he noticed the king but quickly recovered.
"Ah, yes, I was out on an errand."
"For who?"
My eyes narrowed.
"No one."
"Please. I'm not an idiot, radio demon. You reek of the human world."
"And you reek of height deficiency."
"Oh you-!"
I could see the king restraining himself. Any button I could push was perfect.
"I could always just find out who owns your soul, sinner~"
I froze, standing up in front of him
"Don't. you. dare."
"Then tell me where you were."
"I was visiting- a friend."
"You have friends?"
"Unlike you, yes."
"Your little friend is still alive, though? Sounds like your trying to make a deal. Desperate, are we?"
"Sire, I don't stoop that low. Do you take me for you?"
"Just tell me who you've been fucking seeing. (NOT LIKE THAT YOU DIRTY MINDED PEOPLE) It's not that hard."
"I'll bring you next time, fair?"
"I guess. Get your ass downstairs, though, Charlie's waiting."
"Of course."
NOTES: AH! first chapter over! As you can tell, I don't have any patience and will hit main events in one chapter. That's why I have a lot for this story, so sorry if it seems rushed. 783 words!
