Moving to Reseda wasn't part of Jordana Zamarripa's grand plan. But then again, neither was her parents' divorce or saying goodbye to her life in Ciudad de México. At thirteen, she found herself in a new country, navigating the not-so-glamorous side of California with her mom and older sister.

Back home, she had a reputation— la fresita, the spoiled one. But Jordana didn't mind. She'd worked hard for her spot on the gymnastics team, even if her carefully polished image made her classmates roll their eyes. Now, in this strange, sun-bleached suburb, no one cared about her leotards or trophies.

The only silver lining? Her neighbors. Miguel Díaz was the first to say hello, and he never treated her like the outsider everyone else seemed to see. Instead, he became the older brother she didn't know she needed—always asking about her flips and cheering her on. And then there was Johnny Lawrence, Miguel's blunt but weirdly kind sensei, who had apparently decided karate was the solution to everything, including Jordana's homesickness.

When Johnny reopened Cobra Kai, Miguel begged her to check it out. Jordana had laughed, brushing him off with a teasing, "I'll stick to backflips, thanks." Punching and kicking? Not her thing. But with every training session she watched, something tugged at her. Maybe it was Johnny's relentless confidence, or Miguel's excitement as he nailed another move. Or maybe it was her realization that gymnastics had taught her discipline, balance, and strength—the perfect foundation for something new.

She wasn't sold yet, but life in Reseda had a way of surprising her. And Jordana was starting to think that maybe, just maybe, Cobra Kai could be more than just a karate dojo. It might be the fresh start she never knew she needed.
