(Y/N) and Lila joined Erasmus in the labyrinthine library, their figures disappearing amidst towering shelves and swirling dust motes. Time suspended as they delved deeper, their quest for the Book of Forest Lore fueling determination. Erasmus's seat, vacant behind the stone lectern, revealed the object of their desire: a majestic, crimson-bound tome adorned with an intricate lock. The lectern, once a symbol of authority, now served as a pedestal for the coveted book. Meanwhile, Erasmus's enthusiasm propelled him upward, his compact form scaling a precarious pile of books, bolstered by a marble bust.

Erasmus's haphazard excavation sent tomes tumbling, their leather bindings creaking protests. (Y/N)'s meticulous approach provided a soothing counterpoint, her fingers methodically sorting through a nearby stack. A languid yawn escaped her lips, betraying her fatigue. Lila, positioned nearby, suddenly stiffened, her eyes widening as an unexpected flash illuminated her surroundings. A tiny bouquet of flowers sprouted from her mane, entwining her locks with vibrant, colourful blooms. Her irritation echoed through the vault.

Lila's exasperated declaration resonated through the shelves. "If I get zapped with one more defective wand, I'm gonna scream." Her ears delicately twitched at the blossoms, now wilting, from her mane. The jar of floral and wood wands nearby seemed to mock her, its contents promising magic but delivering mayhem. Erasmus's distant muttering and (Y/N)'s gentle humming provided a calming background melody, reminding Lila that their shared quest outweighed individual frustrations.

(Y/N)'s soothing smile calmed Lila's frustration, her honeyed tones offering balm to her friend's irritated spirit. "I don't know... it's sort of... you!" The gentle compliment softened Lila's twisted expression, though her harumph betrayed lingering vexation.

Erasmus, on the other hand, lost his precarious balance, tumbling from his lofty perch amidst a cascading avalanche of books. The dusty tomes swallowed him whole, their yellowed pages fluttering wildly.

As Erasmus wrestled free from the tangled mess, his wheezing coughs echoed through the vault, mingling with Lila's melodic gasp. Her shock was contagious, (Y/N)'s lips curling downward in sympathy. Erasmus's dignity, however, remained bruised. "Oh, that does it!" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with resignation. "I give up! Where can that book be?" His despairing gaze roamed the shelves, as if the Book of Forest Lore deliberately concealed itself.

(Y/N)'s reassuring words countered Erasmus's desperation. "We'll find it, Erasmus. We haven't been looking for that long." Lila's incredulous interjection punctuated the air. "Are you kidding? We've been looking the whole night!" Her emphasis awakened (Y/N)'s surprise. "We have?" she queried, her voice tinged with wonder. Time, seemingly elastic, had compressed their quest into an eternity.

As dawn's ethereal whispers caressed the horizon, (Y/N)'s (Y/E/C) gaze drifted toward the window, where radiant sunlight spilled over the rugged cliffs, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the sky.

The breathtaking vista, however, brought her no solace. With a melancholic sigh, she turned away, her eyes drawn to the nearby mirror. Its silvery surface reflected her poignant transformation, her slender form morphing into the majestic yet sorrowful visage of a swan. Her gaze lingered, as if captive to the haunting beauty of her avian reflection. A heavy-hearted sigh escaped her lips, the sound echoing through the vault like a mournful serenade.
