A New Beginning

It was a nice summer day. And Marty and his brother, Harper, were able to land a trip to Seattle for some beach fun in the sun.

But they weren't just there for fun now.

After landing, RZ called Marty on his NFL-R  to tell him that someone tried to steal the Seahawks' Megacore. So Marty was splitting his vacation with his brother to make it where he can keep an eye on the Megacore as well.

Right now, Marty and Harper were at Madison Park Beach. Playing some catch with a football Marty had on him.

"I really missed this!" Marty said as he tossed the ball to his older brother. "Ever since you moved out, we hardly hang out." Harper threw the ball back to Marty. "Sorry. But it was a bit hard keeping up with the rent of my apartment. I'm just so glad that I was able to get some time off. Too bad that you have to do some Guardian work while we're here." Harper said, making sure no one heard that last part.

"Yeah. I know. But I wonder who was after the Megacore this time." Marty said as he tossed the ball to Harper again.

When Harper went to toss the ball back to Marty, it went over the younger Stevens brother's head and landed in a patch of sand.

"I'll get it." Marty said before he walked over to where the ball landed. When Marty picked it up, he saw that some orange goo caused the sand to stick to the ball and, now, his hands. "Ew. Gross." Marty said before he tried to shake the gooey sand off his hands, which didn't work much. "I'm going to clean the ball and my hands real quick." Marty said to his older brother.

"Okay. I have to check in with Mom and Dad real quick anyway." Harper said before he pulled out his phone.

Marty nodded his head and headed to the restroom.

When he got there, he washed his hands before pulling out a small, plastic test tube from his pocket and scrapped some of the gooey sand off of the ball and into the test tube before he started cleaning it.

Something told him that there was something off about the orange goo.

When he finished cleaning the ball, the alarm on his phone that told him he needed to head to the stadium to check on the Megacore went off. "Aw man." He said as he turned off the alarm and left the restroom.

As he did, he didn't notice that, when he blinked, his eyes started glowing orange and looked kind of cat-like. And when he blinked again, they returned to normal.

While Marty and Harper headed towards the stadium, Syrus and Cinder, a white cat with gray paws, ears, tail-tip, walked up to the spot where Marty's ball landed it. He looked around to make sure no one was watching before he took out the Spiller and used it to suck up the Oozed sand.

When he was finished, he finally saw Marty's footprints heading to and away from the spot.

"Not good. Especially if whoever these footprints belong to touched the Oozed sand." Syrus said before he went back to his Carnotaur-cycle, put on his helmet, got on it with Cinder sitting in the special side-care he made just for her, and rode off to look for Marty.

~Later~

Marty was currently looking around the stadium with Harper and the Seahawks Rusher, Freefall, while they waited for the rest of the Guardians.

Something attacked the Megacore vault security guards while Marty and Harper were on their way to the stadium. Thankfully, whoever attacked the guards couldn't get into the vault.
