STAY, MY SANCTUARY

You stood by me through trials and pain,
A steadfast shoulder, my solace in rain.
When life grew rough, breathing seemed tough,
You stayed, though the road was jagged and rough.

Knowing well I was bound and chained,
Emotionally crippled, my strength restrained.
Yet in my solitude, lost in the night,
You became my torch, my guiding light.

But now I see, though late in my view,
You were hurting deeply—how could this be true?
How did you care when broken inside,
Tending to me while your soul cried?

On your knees, begging for reprieve,
Yet you gave and gave, never to deceive.
You masked your sorrow, hid your strife,
Treating me gently, preserving my life.

Like a diamond, your care was rare,
A father, a mentor, a mother, all there.
I was selfish, blind to your plight,
Taking your love, ignoring your fight.

Now I extend my hand, too late,
For you're at your low, carrying fate.
You always caught me when I would fall,
But now you're leaving—why end it all?

You once promised you'd never depart,
But now you're breaking my fragile heart.
With a smile, you pledge to guard from afar,
Yet I wish you'd stay, my guiding star.

Why must you leave when we can bear the weight,
Together, as we vowed to challenge fate?
Still, you shield me, wanting no pain,
But your absence now drives me insane.

I’d give all to keep you here,
To honor your love, so pure and sincere.
If wishes were real, and Santa could hear,
I’d ask for your presence to stay near.

So, stay with me—wild and free,
Let’s face this ruthless world, you and me.
For your sacrifices will forever remain,
The anchor that steadied me through my pain.
