(A/N) Hello everyone, I am so sorry for abandoning this story years ago. I just logged back into my Wattpad account and saw how much y'all liked it, and now I feel obligated to finish the story. I'm gonna shoot for weekly updates until it's done. Also, thank you so much to everyone who read my fanfic lol.

(Your POV)

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by an older gentleman with dark hair, and a young man who looked just like him. I assumed they were father and son.

"Dio, who is this shoeless young lady that you've brought back here?" Asked the older man.

Dio replied, "Mr. Joestar, this is my new maid. I just procured her from the miscellaneous auction in town. I haven't yet asked her name or of her origins, but she does speak English."

"Young lady, what's your name? How did you end up in a Somalian human auction?" The old man asked me, gingerly.

Still in utter shock, it took a moment for me to muster up the ability to speak.

"...My name is (Y/N)(L/N), my family are a part of the Somali Sea aristocracy. I come from a long line of English merchants who came to this area to trade goods... Six months ago, I was kidnapped by pirates from my home in Jasiirada Ngumi, an island not far from the coast. My parents were killed in the altercation. From then, my captors held me in preparation for today's auction, and I was unable to escape, despite countless attempts."

"Oh my... I am so sorry for the hardships you have faced these past few months. You are safe in with us now." The old man replied, gently grasping my hands.

"Jojo, please bring our guest some water and something to eat." The young boy, who I assumed to be the man's son, nodded and curtly got up from his seat to fetch the consumables.

The young man named Dio was sitting next to me and began to speak. "Mr. Joestar, we must get her new clothes, we cannot keep her in these rags." He looked at my disheveled outfit with disdain as he said it.

"Yes, I will go buy the lady something in town. Dio, you stay here with her and Jojo while I'm gone."

"Yes, sir." Dio replied, looking over at me as the man he called Mr. Joestar left our hotel.

The other young man, Jojo, returned with a glass of ice water and a plate of food. He set it down in front of me with a kind smile and said, "This is for you, (Y/N)."

"Thank you very much for your generosity." I replied.

"Oh please, this is nothing. The Joestar family has plenty to spare." Dio retorted, earning a glare back from Jojo, who then headed towards the back of the hotel room.

His comment left me wondering, who were these people? Was Dio not a part of this family? I sat in silence for a moment before I asked Dio, "Sir, are you not a part of the Joestar family? My apologies if I'm prying; I'm simply curious due to the way that you phrased your last statement, as well as your lack of resemblance to the other two."

"You are correct, I am not blood relatives of those two. Mr. Joestar adopted me after my father died several years ago." He replied.

"Oh, I'm sorry for your loss. I should have minded my own business." I said, Dio immediately perking up with visible rage.

"It's no loss, that man was a scourge on society. He was nothing but an abusive drunkard, and he killed my mother with his antics. The day they buried him, I spat on his grave." You could hear the vitriolic hatred in his voice, this man truly hated his father.

I didn't know how to respond, so I just said, "It was very kind of the Joestars to take you in."

"Yes, I am very grateful for all that they've done for me." Dio replied, rolling his eyes. I pretended to ignore the sarcasm, as I don't know the real dynamic here.

Several minutes passed by as I ate the food that Jojo brought for me. Dio was reading a book about archeology, and I was hesitant to interrupt him, although I desperately wished to know my fate. When he flipped to the next page, I spoke.

"So what will become of me, now that you've bought me? Will I be freed?"

Dio remained focused on his book, seemingly finishing the sentence he was reading, before he replied.

"I bought you to be my maid, not knowing that you were of a high social class. Now that we have this information, it makes things a bit more difficult. I can't exactly have an aristocrat woman doing my housework, as Mr. Joestar would not allow that."

He thought of what to do with me for a moment, before offering me a proposition.

"Somali is too dangerous for a beautiful girl like you to just be wandering around. And with nobody to return you to, you would most likely suffer a tragic fate if left here. Marry me and travel back to England with me. You would never want for another thing, nor would you face any of the atrocities that you have here. I can give you a new life."

Marriage? This wasn't something that I had considered since long before I was captured. The thought of marrying a man that I had just met unsettled me, but when else would I get another opportunity like this? I certainly don't want to stay here after what I just got out of, and this handsome young man seems nice enough. Girls my age have arranged marriages all the time, and there are worse things to have happen to you, I suppose. I seriously weighed my options for a while, always coming back to the conclusion that this would be the best thing for me.

"You want to marry me? Aren't you a noble or something?" I asked.

He chuckled. "The Joestars are not of nobility, they are aristocrats, just as your family was. You would fit right in."

I would fit right in? Maybe this is the path for me...

"I need some time to think about this..." I stated.
