An IT request was already logged on my monitor the moment I came into work on Monday morning. Of course there was.

Ticket number: 454645

Requester: Callum Moore

Subject: "Can we talk?"

After we had left them outside of the club, Ollie and I had actually gone for dinner, but it certainly wasn't the type of dinner you needed a reservation for. Eating a burger and fries on a park wall at almost midnight was a surprisingly nice way to end the evening and had helped to take my mind off of the guilt I felt about Freya Lux.

Now that this notification sat here, however, the guilt was slowly returning. Simultaneously, I felt a duty to inform her of what was happening and had a voice telling me that it was absolutely none of my business. Unfortunately, however, Callum Moore had made it my business.

"Are you going to go up there?" Ollie asked.

"Absolutely not; he is barred from all further IT support."

"I'm not sure if we're within our jurisdiction to do that, Millie."

"Tough luck."

Ollie had offered to fulfil the IT request himself, but I refused. I wanted Callum to be fully aware that I wasn't going to respond to this behaviour from him anymore. Quite frankly, it was annoying and inappropriate. After the events of Friday night, I wanted all traces of my involvement with that man to be kept to a minimum.

Knowing Callum Moore, however, it would be a miracle if I achieved that wish.

"Is there something going on between you and Callum? Or did something happen?"

The question took me by surprise, and I had to turn to give Ollie a baffled look. What on earth gave him that idea?

"Don't make me sick."

Ollie didn't look convinced.

Subject: "I have a genuine IT issue this time and a panel of people are waiting. Mayday."

"He sure seems desperate for your attention." Ollie peered over my shoulder. "Are you going up?"

"I suppose I have to," I grumbled, swapping my shoes.

My wish for freedom from all Callum involvement was crushed quickly.

A room of important looking men in suits looked towards the lift as the doors chimed open. Relief washed over Callum's face as he rushed to the glass door for his office to hold it open for me. They were gathered around the long, rectangular meeting table in the far corner of the windowed room facing a screen that was currently flashing blue on and off.

"You're a lifesaver. Thank you," Callum whispered, ushering me to the laptop.

"I'm just doing my job." My voice had a biting edge to it.

Callum backed off, which was probably wise, and left me to fix the laptop. I was incredibly aware of every pair of eyes in that room being centred on me as I took a seat at the head of the table to fix the issue with the laptop. It was a relatively easy fix, but it required updating the laptop to the latest software, so I was stuck for the time being. I relayed as much to Callum.

"While IT fixes the issue, why don't we continue where we left off?"

Glancing up through my lashes, I could see the familiar face of the man who spoke. My lip curled up slightly and I bowed my head to let my hair fall around my face to hide my expression. That was one man that I really couldn't hide my distaste for, even more so than Callum Moore. It wasn't fair to compare them; Callum was arrogant, sure, but his father, Alasdair Moore, was sinister.
