~Jungkook's Apartment, Early Morning~

The early morning light filters softly through the blinds, casting gentle shadows across the room. Jungkook sits on the edge of his bed, hunched over with his face buried in his hands. His shoulders shake slightly, silent sobs escaping him. Jimin stands nearby, his expression clouded with concern as he kneels down beside Jungkook, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Jungkook-ah..." Jimin's voice is barely a whisper, as though speaking too loudly might shatter his friend into even smaller pieces. He knows Jungkook's been crying since last night—ever since he called him, his voice choked with heartache, asking if he could come over.

Jungkook finally lifts his head, his eyes red-rimmed and swollen. "Hyung... I don't understand," he chokes out, voice barely holding together. "Tae just... broke up with me. Out of nowhere. Last night he called me, and before I could even say anything, he just... ended it. No explanation. Nothing."

Jimin's brows knit together, worry deepening as he listens. "Did he say anything at all? Even just a reason why?"

Jungkook shakes his head, staring at the floor as if it might hold the answers he so desperately wants. "No," he murmurs. "I tried calling him so many times, but he's not answering... not a single message, either." A bitter laugh escapes him, tinged with sadness. "It's like I don't even exist to him anymore. Like I never mattered."

Jimin pulls Jungkook into a tight hug, feeling Jungkook's hands clutch the back of his shirt like a lifeline. "You do matter, Jungkook. You mattered to him," Jimin insists gently, although a flicker of doubt dances in his eyes. Taehyung breaking things off without any explanation didn't sound like him. Something wasn't adding up.

After a moment, Jimin pulls back slightly, searching Jungkook's face. "Maybe... he's going through something, something he feels like he can't talk about yet. You know how stubborn he can be. But I promise, we'll get to the bottom of this together, okay?"

Jungkook nods, though the sorrow in his eyes remains. "I just... I don't know how to let go, hyung. I love him so much. I can't just... pretend he's not there."

Jimin gives his shoulder a gentle squeeze, a determined look crossing his face. "You don't have to let go if you're not ready. And we'll find out what's really going on. But for now, you have me. We'll figure this out together."

As Jungkook leans into Jimin's comforting presence, his thoughts swirl with questions and memories of Taehyung, a puzzle he's desperate to solve. In the back of his mind, he wonders: What happened to us, Taehyung? Why did you leave me without a word?

  ~University Classroom, Morning~

Jungkook enters the bustling classroom, his eyes instinctively searching for Taehyung. A flicker of hope sparks in him as he remembers their usual spot—the two seats by the window, where they'd always sit together, sharing quiet smiles and whispered jokes before class began.

He settles into his chair, glancing occasionally at the door, waiting for Taehyung to arrive. But before he can relax, a sharp voice disrupts his thoughts.

"Hey, get up. This isn't your seat anymore."

Jungkook looks up to see Irene standing before him, arms crossed and eyes cold. Her expression holds no kindness, only annoyance.

"This is my seat," Jungkook replies firmly, though his voice trembles a little. He's never spoken to Irene before, and he's not in the mood for a confrontation. "I've been sitting here all semester."

"Well, things change," Irene says with a dismissive wave of her hand. "Now get lost."

Before Jungkook can say anything more, he feels a familiar presence behind him. He looks up, relief flooding through him as he sees Taehyung standing there. Finally, he thinks, a chance to sort things out.

"Tae" Jungkook says softly, his gaze pleading. "Can you tell her? This... this is my seat."

Taehyung's expression is unreadable, a mask of cold indifference that Jungkook has never seen before. He hesitates only a moment before responding, his voice as empty as his eyes.

"I'm not your boyfriend anymore, Jungkook. I don't have any reason to argue for you."

The words hit Jungkook like a physical blow, knocking the breath from his lungs. For a second, he can only stare, his mind racing to make sense of Taehyung's harsh response. Why is he doing this? Just yesterday, they were together, happy and secure in each other's arms.

"Tae... why?" Jungkook's voice is barely a whisper, desperate and broken. "We were fine yesterday. We were happy. Why did you break up with me?"

Taehyung glances away, avoiding Jungkook's gaze. "I just don't like you anymore," he says, his voice flat. "And I don't owe you an explanation."

A smirk appears on Irene's face, and she steps closer to Jungkook, relishing his pain. "You heard him," she says, her voice dripping with mockery. "You're not his boyfriend anymore. And now this seat belongs to me—his new girlfriend."

The words hang in the air, sharp and cruel, as Jungkook's heart shatters. For a long moment, he sits frozen, unable to process what's happening. He forces himself to look at Taehyung, searching for any sign of remorse, of regret—anything to suggest this isn't real.

But Taehyung's gaze remains averted, his face cold and distant.

Before Jungkook can gather himself, the teacher enters, calling the class to order. With nowhere else to go, Jungkook rises on unsteady legs, making his way to the back of the room, each step feeling heavier than the last.

He sinks into an empty seat, staring blankly at the board as the lesson begins, his mind numb with disbelief. Everything feels surreal, like a twisted nightmare he can't wake up from.

The rest of the class passes in a blur. And by the time it ends, Jungkook is gone, his seat empty, his absence noticed only by one pair of eyes.

Taehyung watches the door long after everyone else has left, a flicker of something unreadable in his gaze. But whatever thoughts linger, he pushes them down, his face returning to its mask of indifference.
