The night of the celebration arrived, and the energy in the hotel room was palpable. Zoe stood in front of the mirror, carefully applying a bit of makeup, her thoughts drifting between the excitement of Lando's victory and the buzz of the club they were all about to head to. She ran a hand through her hair, checking the clock. They were supposed to leave soon, and she wasn't even close to deciding which shoes to wear.
"You ready?" Lando asked as he entered her room.
She couldn't help but smile. They'd been friends for so long, and yet tonight felt different. There was an electricity in the air that wasn't just about the race. Lando had won his second Grand Prix, and everyone was ready to celebrate.
"Almost!" she replied before going back to getting herself ready. She finally settled on a sleek black dress, simple but classy, paired with some bold heels. She knew she'd get plenty of looks, but tonight wasn't about that. It was about being with her friends, feeling the rush of the win, and just letting loose.
Zoe took one last look in the mirror and gave herself a nod of approval. She was ready for whatever the night had in store.
As she stepped into the living room, Lando was already waiting. He was dressed in a sharp suit that complimented his relaxed confidence, and when he saw her, his grin widened.
"Wow, you clean up nice," he teased, his eyes scanning her outfit.
Zoe laughed. "Thanks. You don't look too bad yourself."
Lando's grin shifted, a playful smirk forming. "What can I say? I clean up well after a race win."
"Yeah, you definitely do," Zoe replied with a wink as she grabbed her bag.
The club was buzzing with energy, the bass of the music vibrating through the floor as Zoe and Lando walked through the entrance. The lights were low, the atmosphere thick with excitement and celebration. Everywhere she looked, people were dancing, laughing, and enjoying the aftermath of the race.
Lando led her through the crowd, his arm casually slung over her shoulders. They were both in high spirits, still riding the adrenaline of the race win. The table they'd reserved was surrounded by friends who greeted them with cheers.
"Lando! You legend!" Charles shouted as he stood up to give his friend a high-five.
"Couldn't have done it without you guys," Lando grinned, taking a seat at the table. Zoe followed, sitting next to him.
Lily was already holding a glass of champagne in the air, the first toast of many to come. "To Lando, for winning his first Grand Prix!" she called out, and everyone raised their glasses in unison.
Zoe clinked her glass against Lando's. "You did it, Norris. You earned this."
He grinned at her, his eyes lighting up. "Couldn't have done it without you cheering me on."
Zoe smiled, feeling the warmth of the moment settle in. The club had an electrifying energy, but it was the people around her that made it feel even more special. There was something about the way Lando seemed so at ease tonight, so happy, and Zoe couldn't help but feel proud of him.
As the night wore on, the music grew louder, and the drinks flowed freely. Zoe and Lando chatted with the group, laughing and exchanging stories from the weekend. The dance floor was calling, but they stayed seated, enjoying the laid-back vibe. The buzz of celebration was contagious, and Zoe felt a sense of belonging among her friends.
