Theodore is smoking in the balcony of his manor while thinking about being arranged to be married to Ophelia De Loughrey. He remembers her when both families used to meet up for the annual Yule ball.
She is beautiful without a doubt with her blonde long hair with a face of an angel but he just is not interested in arranged marriage.
Suddenly he hears the sound of heels and he knew who it was. He only looked at her disinterested for a second and then continued to face the balcony. 'I'm not exactly happy with this either' is the first thing that comes out of her mouth (not a hi).
He can feel her eyes not on him. So he chances a look at her and my god was she beautiful was the only thought that ran on his mind but his expression was still neutral.
He slowly blows out a puff of smoke, leaning on the railing and looking at her. He looks at her up and down, as if sizing her up. Then asked ,'why not?'.
'I'm in love with someone. My parents won't allow me to marry him. Hearing this he was intrigued but still made sure to appear casual. He huffs out a quiet scoff and flicks some ash off his cigarette. 'and why not? what's wrong with him?'.
'He's not a pureblood.' This was not what he expected. His expression darkened considerably, now glaring over at her. In a quiet, nearly emotionless voice, he asks 'and why would you ever want to marry someone like that?'
'What do you mean? What does blood have to do with anything? They are humans just like us. We all have the same color blood. And many halfblood wizards are powerful and considered stronger. She replies looking up at be him glaring.
His eyes darkened considerably as he looked directly into her icy blue eyes, taking a few steps closer to her. He towered over her with his height and leaned over slightly, taking a moment to blow out another stream of smoke directly into her face. She immediately closed her eyes and crunched her nose in distaste and stiffened slightly realizing how close he's standing in front of her. He smirked at her reaction and leaned down even further, his dark eyes locked on her pretty face as he spoke in a low, quiet voice. 'You are so naive. You clearly do not know how the world works!'
Hearing this she felt anger course through her veins and forgetting her etiquette spat out' at least I'm not a bloody murderer. His smirk dropped at that, now glaring at her again and moved impossibly closer to her, invading her personal space completely. He slowly leaned down even closer to her ear. 'and what are you implying, hm?'
'You may consider me naive but I know what it feels like to be on edge the whole time 1 get news in the prophet of somebody dying imagining what if it's someone I love. You think I don't know what you all do when your lord calls you? My family may be grey but my father talks about him. How he preaches bloody purity and all that nonsense. It doesn't take a genius to guess. Tell me how many people did u murdered in cold blood for someone else acting like a little obedient slave?' She spat out to his face glaring and with anger and spite in her eyes.
He was quiet for a moment before his hand slowly went up and he grabbed her chin, forcing her to look directly up at him. His eyes were colder than before as he spoke in a quiet, dangerous voice. 'Say what you mean. Now.'
'It means I will never marry you. No matter what. No matter who asks me to. I would rather die.' She replied while glaring her eyes wide showing her true feelings of anger and something else.
He chuckled quietly, keeping his hand on her chin and his grip tightening ever so slightly. He leaned down slightly, his lips only a few inches from her ear.
'Oh, is that so, now?'.His nonchalant reply made her falter. But she just replied it defiantly saying'Yes. Im a Gryffindor remember? I will never submit to you.' Even after she said that he could see her trying to distance herself away from his hands by trying to step back but he just tightened his grip on her chin.
