Madison's POV
I went back to the hotel room and sat down for a second.
"Honey! Congrats!" Mom says with a huge grin. I stand up to hug her, but I'm still a little bit disappointed. "Are you ok?" she asks as she pulls away. I quickly put on a fake smile.
"Yep! All good!" I say. She nods as I go to go get changed. I put on a pink bikini top and a blue bikini bottom. I decided I wanted to wear my pink cover up for my bathing suit since it would match my top. I slip on Edwina and Paulina, my pink and blue flip flops, and walk out to the living room.
"Ready to go? Because Gina said that she'd walk with us." she says. I didn't know anyone else but Yvette and Hadley, so I agreed. We walk out of our room and down the 5 flights of steps. When we're out there, we see a woman, who I guess is Gina, and the cute boy. He's wearing blue and green swim trunks and no shirt. But his aviators are killer. As are his green crocs.
"Ok, you kids go on ahead. We'll meet ya there." Gina says. I start walking, followed by cutey time.
"I'm Madison, by the way." I say. He catches up with me and smiles.
"Zack. Nice to meet you." he says. I smile, seeing how polite he is. Normally when boys see me, they're rude and make nasty comments. But no, he's polite. "I really like your bathing suit. I'm not trying to be nasty, but it's really pretty on you." he says. He called me pretty!
"Thanks! Your trunks complement your chest." I say. "Sorry if that sounded really weird."
"It's fine. My mom said one time that my crocs matched my hair." he says with a smile. I laugh a little bit, as does he. "Your laugh is cute."
"So is yours." I reply. After about 10 minutes of joking around and talking, we reach the beach. There's a big banner that said 'CONGRATS DANCERS!' Zack shrugs his shoulders, and runs in. I follow him, but he runs straight into the water.
"Come on Maddie!" he yells as he falls back into the water. He already has a nickname for me! So cool! No, Madison! Dad said no. "Well Maddie?" he asks.
"Watch out!" I laugh as I run into the water. I jump in while running, and salt water fills me mouth since I forgot. I immediately come up and cough up the water. Zack runs over to me and rubs my back.
"Madison, are you ok?" he asks. But it sounds sincere. He knows when to play and when to be serious. I finish spitting out water and gasping from fresh, non salty air.
"Yeah. I'm fine." I say. He nods and smiles. "Thanks for helping me." I say with a smile.
"No problem. It's this thing I have, I guess. Whenever I see someone crying or in need, I feel the urge to help. And if I don't I feel guilt." he explains.
"You're a really good person then." I say.
"Food's ready!" a small girl yells. I get out and grab a plate. A tall ginger walks over to me with her plate.
"You and Zack look cute together." she says. I smile, agreeing with her. "I'm Briana." she says.
"Madison. Nice to meet you." I reply. She smile and picks up some salad. I take salad as well, but with some chicken wings. I look over at Zack and he's eating ribs.
"Can I have your number?" she asks. I nod and hand her my phone. She hands me hers and we exchange numbers. Boom, friend number 3. I sit down on my towel my mom laid out for me and started to eat my chicken wings. Hadley, Zack, and Briana joined me. But close behind Zack, was Elizabeth. DAMMIT!
"Hey, Maddie, I forgot to ask," Zack says as he finishes a rib, "can I have your number?"
"Sure thing!" I say. He hands me his phone and vise versa. Boom, I've collected 3 numbers. We all start telling stories from back home. Zack thought that when my shirt blew out the window was so hysterical, he almost peed his pants.
"I guess the shirt wanted to be by its, selfie." Briana says. "Get it?" Zack, again, starts laughing. As do the rest of us. After we were done eating, Erin started a camp fire. Zack, to our surprise, went to the hut a little way back, and grabbed a guitar.
"You play guitar?" I ask.
"I taught myself." he says as he sits down. He starts playing and singing:
I tried, on my own I thought I'd get there
Around and round
But I was only getting no where
Then you, came along and gave me something
Something that I could believe in, trust in
And I won't go back again
As long as I have you
I can live like there's nothing left to lose
Won't break, every fracture in my heart
Nothing in this world could tear this love apart
They say you gotta take the good with the bad
I'll take it on as long as I have
You
He is really good. "You are really good." I say in shock. He smiles and looks down.
"Thanks." he says.
"SMORES!" Yvette yells. We all get up and rampage towards her. We grab stuff so we can all at least have one. When Zack makes his, he smears some of his chocolate on me..
"It's so on." I laugh as I throw a marshmallow at him. He gets up and starts throwing marshmallows. I can hear people Instagraming and Snapchatting us being goofy. After a while, we decide to walk back. Elizabeth gives me the death stare before walking away. Zack and I walk back to the hotel, goofing around as usual.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Madison." he says as he enters his room.
"Night!" I say before he shuts the door. I go inside and keep humming the song he was singing. Then, I finally go to sleep. But again in my dream, him and his song are there. And so am I.
