The day was exhausting as hell, I took out my shirt and wore my night suit then I just made myself comfortable in my bed.
Oh what a peace! I closed my eyes and was about to went into a deep sleep when I heard plate falling sound from the kitchen. I lost my sleep and checked the time, 3am. Who'd be in the kitchen at this hour?
I opened the drawer slowly and took out my gun and went downstairs. By taking muffled steps I went in the kitchen and pointed my gun towards the source of sound, "Hands up!".
My eyes widened for a second, "What are you doing here?"
She quickly bowed and said, "I-I am sorry mam, I-I really didn't m-mean to disturb y-you" she stuttered.
"What are you doing here at this hour Sofia?" I said in a low dangerous voice.
I can see the tension in her eyes, the fear.
"I-I was just hungry mam" she replied.
My eyes softened for a bit, "Haven't you taken your meal?"
"No mam I wasn't feeling hungry that time"
"Okay fine just eat and go to sleep" I said.
She nodded.
"And..." I said before leaving, "make sure you don't make any noise" before I could leave my stomach grumbled oh fuck I too haven't took my dinner I was so tired that I directly slept.
I turned around and saw Sofia staring at me with her big eyes, "You know what I think I'll join you too"
She was a bit surprised when I walked towards the counter and started breaking some eggs, "Mam please let me do this" she insisted.
"No I'll do it" I said leaving no room for argument.
After plating the egg perfectly I pushed the plate towards her, "Taste it"
