-Kael Ember
Man, this place was like a spiral of tunnels. And from what it seems like, no one wants to help me. I slammed my hand on the fabric of the tent, and it stayed up. Like, what is this thing even made out of?
"Kael?" I spun around and saw the prettiest girl ever walking towards me. She had to perfect brown braids behind her and two white bows in her hair. "You need help?"
I was to dumbfound to speak so I nodded my head. The girl giggled before sticking out her hand for a hand shake.
"I'm Lyra Lumina. Need some help? I'm actually on my way to breakfast if you'd like to tag along."
"Yes! I'm very hungry anyway," I rubbed my belly. Lyra laughed and led me towards the lunch hall.
Once we were inside, everywhere I looked was just clowns. Well, maybe not clowns but people looking like clowns. Powdered white faces and red noses with red eye streaks. I heard some honking at each other. Are they geese? I noted to myself. I followed closely behind Lyra till she led me to a table with people at it.
"This is Felix, Fleur, Evelyn, and Zinn."
Everyone waved hello to me as I took a seat in between Felix and Evelyn. Evelyn didn't seem to mind at all and we immediately began talking, discussing things about the circus. Felix on the other hand was angry that I was in between the two.
"Actually, Kael, if you could sit on the other side of me..."
I ignored him and kept talking with Evelyn who pointed out the clocks and stars at the side of the tent. It was like the night sky from down-below. It shone with luminance and the radiance brightened the room. I was getting ready to take another bite of my turkey, and as I did, I didn't notice Felix poured hot sauce all over it! As I ate it, I launched out of my seat and ran around the room, looking for glasses of water or milk. As I settled down, I narrowed my eyes at Felix.
"Why?!"
Felix looked taken aback. "Don't sit next to Evelyn. She's-"
I had already had enough with him. I set part of his elegant cape on fire, as I thrust my palm out at it. Felix shrieked and jumped up and down like a little girl before throwing off his cape which kept burning.
"Is it on fire yet? Or perhaps done burning?" I grinned slyly, waltzing over to the cape, picking it up, and extinguishing it by retrieving the fire from it.
"You-you-you ruined my cape!" Felix jumped at me just as a girl with blonde braids intervened.
She sighed and let out a puff of air. "I told Aurek this would happen." She rolled her eyes. "I'm Mara Solstice."
"Wait. What do you mean you knew this was going to happen? Like in a way you can see into the future and test out things. Wait? Does this include reading my thoughts? Or, can you tell me who I end up with?"
Mara acknowledged my questions and began to answer them. "Yes, I knew it was going to happen. Yes, I see into the future, no, I don't test things and theories. Yes, I can see fragments of other people's life but not mine. No, I can't mind read, you end up with..." she looked around between the group of us. "I can't say, till the time is right."
She sidled away as Felix picked up his burnt cape and threw it at my face. I heard him storm away, his steps big and monstrous as if he was a volcano or an avalanche.
"Does he always have anger issues?" I laughed.
Everyone glared at me and started cleaning up the mess. It looks like I wasn't off to a good start with everyone, especially Felix. I think he is like my Opp or something like that now. I guess he can be my number one Opp. But why does he even care about Evelyn, its not like their dating, right? I mean. I can't be too sure but let's be for real. Felix looks like your typical bad-boy playboy while I look like the hot, handsome popular guy. Who wouldn't like me? Well, for now, I knew the answer. Everyone.
