Tonight was Mitch and Jerome's one year anniversary. Mitch wanted to do something special. He ordered a dozen roses and something very special for Jerome. He also wrote him a poem and took him out to dinner.
Mitch's POV
"Aw, Mitchy, thank you," he squealed as I handed him the flowers. I had a blue tie on and Mitch had a black one. I took his hand and led him into the restaurant. I had called ahead and gotten reservations. The waitress took us to a table and we ordered. We sat there, just talking like normal. I felt a little nervous. I was wearing my Jordans, he was wearing dress shoes. He was always more formal when it came to things like this. The waiter delivered my salad and Jerome's chicken Parmesan.
"This is great, Mitch," he said between bites of the chicken. I laughed and used my napkin to wipe a crumb off his face. He blushed. I crunched on the rest of my salad in silence, trying to work up the courage to do what I had been trying to for so long.
After we ate, I decided it was time. Finally.
"Jerome Aceti, I love you. We have been together for one entire year. That may not be a long time in the grand scheme of things, but I think that at 21, I know what love it. Jerome, will you marry me?" I got down on one knee and pulled the little black box from my pocket.
"Oh my God, Mitch. Yes!" He shouted. I kissed him, sliding the ring on his finger.

Well, that happened fast. I really want these stories to go slower. Skylox next! Enjoy!
