HER CHILDHOOD mornings were always the same, and not to her surprise even when she was 22, she was woken in the same way. At the sudden impact of the pillow hitting her face she groaned as she woke up, sitting up and rubbing her eyes before looking up and seeing Sunghoon standing at the foot of her bed.

"Would it kill you to let me sleep in? I went to bed late," she mumbled, the smell of breakfast already wafting throughout the large house.

He grins and throws another pillow at her face, making her more annoyed. "My favorite sister is back, which means my morning traditions resume again."

"I'm your only sister," Minseo breathed out, feeling the cold air hit her body once the covers got pulled off her.

"Doesn't mean you have to be my favorite. Get up. Mom made pancakes to welcome you back." He pulled her foot, trying to get the girl to get out of bed.

"You mean she got the maid to make pancakes." She yawned and Sunghoon chuckled, agreeing to her statement before shutting the door behind him and leaving Minseo to wake up by herself.

Minseo sluggishly got up and got dressed before joining her family downstairs. They sat around the large dining room table, passing around the plates of food that the maid had made for them. When she sat down it felt weird to be the one getting served and not the one serving, she was used to her new life in the city and now she's back to her old one.

"You look tired dear, did you not sleep well?" Her mother spoke up, smiling at the girl while her father scrolled through the news on his phone.

"Slept fine. Sunghoon just woke me up with a pillow to my face," she grumbled and shoved pieces of pancake into her mouth. Minseo heard Sunghoon chuckle from in front of her but ignored it and stared at her plate of food.

Her mother hummed in response, sending Sunghoon a glare before the family went back to eating. She didn't know if it was just her, but Minseo thought the atmosphere was awkward. Without knowing how to handle it she just kept eating and avoided eye contact with her parents while Sunghoon quietly laughed when seeing her awkward expression.

Once her plate was empty she immediately got up to go to the kitchen, grabbing a mug and pouring herself a cup of coffee before walking back to the table.

"Minseo," her father spoke for the first time that morning and she quickly turned to him, wiping the excess coffee from her upper lip.

She hummed and placed her mug on the table. "Yeah?"

"I saw the small dent on your car when I went out this morning, did something happen?" He asked and put his phone face down, staring at the girl with a concerned look.

She panicked internally but bluntly stated, "Yeah, I just hit some guy yesterday. Jong... or John? I forgot his name. I was so tired."

At her words, her entire family turned their heads to her. Her father's mouth was agape, her mother's face unreadable while Sunghoon was trying to control his laughter. Minseo kicked his shin under the table which he winced, rubbing the area lightly and sending her a glare before going back to eating.

"Pulled a hit and run did you?" Sunghoon spoke, throwing grapes into his mouth and ignoring the warning glares from his parents.

"Shut up, I did not. I grazed him with my car and took him to the hospital."

"Why take him to the hospital if you grazed him?" Sunghoon questioned, riling the girl up even further.

"To be safe, he fell and had some cuts on his face," she muttered and her parents instantly started scolding her about the safety of driving. She tuned them out and looked at Sunghoon who stared at her with a puzzled look.

"Wait— seriously? Was it serious?" Sunghoon asked, crossing his arms and leaning in so he could hear Minseo over his parents who were still trying to scold the girl.

The girl nodded and kept taking small sips of her coffee. "It wasn't serious, he's fine. I brought him to get patched up and then bought him some coffee."

Sunghoon chuckled lightly and the pair were pulled out of their separate conversation when their mother spoke up suddenly. "Minseo!" She looked up and saw her mother rubbing her forehead before making eye contact with her daughter. "He's okay though, right?"

"Yes guys, he's fine." She smiled, reassuring her parents that no real damage had been done. When they dropped the topic Minseo celebrated in her head but that celebration was short-lived.

"Well then, help us decorate the living room tonight dear, we want you to be a part of it!" Her mother smiled excitedly at the thought of decorating the house with her daughter once more.

At seeing her mother's excited smile, Minseo couldn't deny her what she wanted although she dreaded the thought of decorating already. "Yeah. Of course Mom, I'll help."
